  1. Yes, that's the joke. We already discussed that the original Dick Williams is safely socially distanced 6 ft from everyone...
  2. That's a huge "if." If he does, you try to extend him during the year or give him the QO after.
  3. And I still think it's likely he signs with the Sox for 365. Maybe he doesn't? We do know that the Sox didn't want to sign him for 365. What difference will that 65M be for the Sox over the next decade? IDK.
  4. Seems like having a "hardline stance" is not a negotiation for Henry.
  5. Is .500 "bad" or "average"?
  6. But then what about the year after? Kimbrel was available in 2016, maybe not in 2017.
  7. It was a joke about the Dick Williams discussion earlier in the thread.
  8. And Uehara and Kimbrel both pitched about the same in 2016.
  9. For one year? Maybe. For 2017, nope.
  10. Henry: 300! Mookie: 400? Henry: I'm walking out and will no longer negotiate!
  11. They love to sign bad contracts and complain about it later (CC, Pablo, Hanley, Eovaldi?, Sale?)
  12. Kimbrel was a 3x All Star from 2016 - 2018. Uehara retired two years after Kimbrel was signed. They needed a longer term solution in the closer spot. After the Kimbrel trade, Uehara had 9 saves for the remainder of his career. Kimbrel had 31, 35 and 42 for the Sox.
  13. @Rotoworld_BB Dick Williams steps down as Reds' team president Will the Sox be making a call?!?!?!?!?!?
  14. The impact on sending out prospects (that are worse than the ones you kept) to fill a glaring need and help you win a WS seems like a good thing. Nitpick about the other deals if you want, but the Sale and Kimbrel deals I do over and over again.
  15. Extend injury prone pitchers at the expense of the rest of your payroll?
  16. He doesn't go for either.
  17. Kevin Pillar.
  18. Yes, he should have been nontendered. We've gone over this. He's still much better than Margot.
  19. Margot is still ARB eligible and getting paid less because his production is less.
  20. What he represented in this post was "why can't the Sox keep their good players?" He was sold at his highest value. Beni and JBJ are better.
  21. And he still had a .314 OBP for the season (182 BABIP), where Margot's was .327 (317 BABIP). I would be donuts to dollars that Beni is the better player going forward.
  22. Puig opted out after getting COVID. My guess is that whatever deal he gets this year is much less than Atlanta's one year deal. I can't find out how much he signed for.
  23. Barking up the wrong tree there. That one doesn't have any leaves and is in rough shape. May need to cut it down before the next hurricane season.
  24. 2017 - 2020 fWAR for OFers: Beni: 32nd JBJ: 33rd Pillar: 46th Margot: 60th Why can't we get players like Margot?!??!?
