Maybe they just go with Pivetta or Houck? Maybe they go with both? Hard to really say because we don't have a long history with Bloom here and don't have an idea on what Henry wants next year to look like.

No, I just wonder if Ben would have been able to step in with some authority and maybe part with fewer prospects (i.e. Allen, Dubon, etc.). I bet the big trades get made, but maybe they just don't overwhelm the other team with prospects in every f-r-e-a-k-i-n deal.

The argument I'd make is that it seems like Verdugo seems like more of a certainty to be a part of the future. The book is out on the other guys.

Bauer would be fun as hell to watch tho. Kind of a jerkoff tho. Kind of a good pitcher tho. Kind of an overpay tho. If he signed with Boston, I could see him melting down against the city if he ever started struggling.

Considering what Jacko said above, I'm not sure how they could guess on that timetable.

They might sign one of Stroman or Bauer, but I doubt they sign both. If they sign a high priced guy, the other move for a starter will be on the much cheaper end of things. I bet they grab two middle priced options instead.
