  1. Per Fangraphs, he had 1 prior to the 2020 season, so he'd be out of options? WTF??? C'mon people!
  2. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2020/07/phillies-designate-robert-stock-for-assignment-set-opening-day-roster.html Injuries have played their role, but Stock also has struggled to locate the ball throughout his time in the minor leagues (career 5.5 BB/9). He has a pair of minor league options remaining and was claimed by the Phils the last time he hit waivers, so perhaps another club will speculate on his powerful right arm. Seems like he has two?
  3. LOL wut? So the second that Snell gives up a hit, you just assume he'll repeat game 2? Why even start him then?
  4. Yes, you need a 100% balance between analytics and what is going on in real life on the field. If a guy has a history of striking out a specific batter 10/10 times, but he's struggling to get the ball over the plate, odds are that you probably should get a new pitcher. Having analytics that say pull a starter out before the 3rd time through the order is fine, but it can't ignore recent history of a bullpen pitcher's struggles. If Cash went to a reliever that had been dominating recently, it would have made much more sense.
  5. I agree only because the 26th spot is most likely going to be another rule V guy.
  6. I think that goes into the "more likely to contribute" calculation. Guys like Brice have limited upside. You know what they are. A guy like Aybar might not be at Brice's level yet, but odds are that he can give you better value at some point.
  7. If the guys at the bottom are really that fungible, the difference between Stock and the other guys may not be that much. At that point, you just keep the guy who is more likely to contribute to the MLB roster.
  8. Do options even matter? You can use the option to get the guy back to MiLB, but that doesn't get them off the 40 man roster. Right now, the worry is the 40 man roster, not the 26 man active roster.
  9. @M_Montemurro Phillies have outrighted LHP Adam Morgan and RHP Heath Hembree off the 40-man roster, sources say. Both pitchers entered offseason arbitration eligible. Morgan had flexor tendon surgery earlier this month and has 6-9 month recovery. Hembree was acquired from Boston in Aug.
  10. If there were only advanced stats for overuse and decreased effectiveness...
  11. In celebration of Rusney’s final day: https://www.reddit.com/r/redsox/comments/jjt8sb/now_that_hes_a_free_agent_here_is_a_goodbye_video/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf
  12. Winter meetings are Dec 6-10
  13. So far: Tapia Lin (AAA) Leyer (AAA) Triggs Kickham Godley Peraza Covey (AAA) Puello (AAA) means they have accepted minors assignment to WOO.
  14. @SmittyOnMLB The Rusney Castillo ERA in Boston officially is over:
  15. @Rotoworld_BB Nats decline options on Eaton, Kendrick, Thames Kendrick on a one year deal as placeholder for Downs? He's better than Arroyo et al.
  16. Remember when Stanley didn't cross up Gedman?
  17. Even your strawman is saying no.
  18. That part was obvious. Hard for a guy like him to get back into gear. There is no excuse for Grady. None.
  19. It would definitely be a keno ticket rotation.
  20. Bragg had 5.7 fWAR over the next two seasons. Moyer was only under contract through the end of 96. Good deal for the Sox.
  21. @mlbtraderumors Rangers Plan To Decline Corey Kluber's 2021 Option Offer a one year deal?
  22. I agree that you consider that move if he's at 90 pitches or so. If it's Charlie Morton or anyone not named Blake Snell, the move doesn't get criticized IMO.
