  1. 18-19 was the same elbow injury. He had surgery and got it fixed. 2020 he broke his wrist.
  2. Yes, I've think I've turned to the darkside where Kiké should be the CF. I think they can piece together 2b. It's never hard to find a AAAA guy to just throw at that position.
  3. IDK. I still kinda see Cordero as a LF. I know he's good really good wheels, but I heard his route running labeled as "adventurous." To me, he's better as a platoon with Renfroe and have another guy come in as the CF. Hell, maybe they do throw Kiké in CF and have Arroyo/Chavis do a share at 2b?
  4. From an emotional standpoint, JBJ sees that his buddies Betts/Beni/Holt are all gone. May as well just switch teams. He'd have to be paid a premium to come back here.
  5. I'd say using Fenway as a model goes back 30 years with the build of Camden Yards.
  6. It's his right to hold out as long as he can. I hope he earns as much as he can wring out of these greedy owners. I just hope it's not here.
  7. @byJulianMack Good news: no more 7:30 red sox start times. All evening home games will begin at 7:10.
  8. I don't think we're worried about the out of pocket cost, just the lux tax calc.
  9. Maybe someday they'll tear that dump down too.
  10. I bet he is already holding onto a 2-3 year deal, but he doesn't like the amount. He was overpaid last year and may expect comparable money.
  11. I'd be ok with them bringing him back because you could slide him over to RF or LF if Duran gets ready, but I don't think it's in their budget. I think JBJ wants a multi year deal, so it would take more dollars for a one year deal to bring him back to the Sox. 1/9? Not sure they'd go over just to bring JBJ back.
  12. Seems like it. @jcmccaffrey Oops, yes. Benintendi's salary is $6.6 million this year, but he'd signed a two-year, $10 million deal ahead of 2020, so the $5 million AAV is what counts toward the payroll this year @ChrisCotillo Correction: Red Sox will pay $2.8 million and the CBT hit on Benintendi is $2.8 million for 2021.
  13. @Feinsand Two rival executives believe the Red Sox are likely to sign Jackie Bradley Jr. now that they have traded Andrew Benintendi. "It makes too much sense not to happen now," one said. (x) doubt
  14. Less than that because they are covering a portion of his salary. 2.8?
  15. Fingers are triple crossed.
  16. Don't keep the keyboard player (Eovaldi) in spite of the lead singer (Betts).
  17. It's the totality of the turnover: Holt, Betts, Bradley, Benintendi... Guys that they marketed the s*** out of.
  18. I think that's what they are looking for, a jack of all trades that can back up all 3 OF positions. That's why I think it'll be Pillar.
  19. The problem is that Henry made a deal with the devil when he hired DD. He brought in DD for the ring, got the ring and got the baggage that goes along with it. When you line up Theo, Ben, DD and Bloom, the odd man out is DD. His roster construction is antithetical to how the Sox had been previously built.
  20. I'm sure there's lots of leeway. You don't gut payroll with a former TB guy and expect to be the Dodgers the next year. Even another last place finish is probably not a concern to Henry as long as there is a plan to get the Sox back into contention year in and year out.
  21. The first thing I asked my son this AM was "name a Red Sox baseball player." He said "Andrew Benintendi." It's like the Seinfeld gag, you aren't rooting for players or a team, you are rooting for a uniform.
  22. If only Bloom had checked BTV we wouldn't be in this mess.
  23. For people questioning the power, watch this: https://youtu.be/_TTSnQHbCjQ
  24. Franchy Cordero highlights to dream on:
  25. Ortiz was 27 his first year here.
