  1. Yes, Small Hall, brother moon! Amen!
  2. He looked like he needed another simulated game before that start, but he turned it around a bit.
  3. Hell no, brother moon! Preach!
  4. Andruw Jones should be in the HOF. 100%
  5. I posted the entire offensive FA class of 2022. I'm sure Bloom could go through that list and find someone to replace JD or move an in house option to DH and replace that fielding position with a FA.
  6. Since 2015: Trout - 47.2 fWAR Betts - 38.8 fWAR Nobody else has 30. They are in a class all their own. If you exclude 2015, Betts gets much closer to Trout as well.
  7. Of that list, you complained about JBJ and not Molina?
  8. So all things being equal, Tejada was a more popular player. That should push him over the finish line, but I don't think either guy has a great case.
  9. I think we could get one of the guys below to play DH: Catcher: Travis d'Arnaud, Yadier Molina, Buster Posey (club option), Christian Vazquez (club option) First base: Freddie Freeman, Anthony Rizzo, Brandon Belt Second base: Starlin Castro, Cesar Hernandez (club option) Third base: Nolan Arenado (opt-out), Kris Bryant, Eduardo Escobar, Kyle Seager (club option), José Ramírez (club option) Shortstop: Javier Báez, Carlos Correa, Corey Seager, Trevor Story, Andrelton Simmons, Brandon Crawford Outfield: Michael Conforto, Tommy Pham, Starling Marte, Kyle Schwarber (mutual option), Eddie Rosario, Corey Dickerson, Nick Castellanos (opt-out), Charlie Blackmon (player option), Andrew McCutchen (club option), Jackie Bradley Jr. (opt-out) Designated hitter: Jorge Soler, Khris Davis, Nelson Cruz, J.D. Martinez (opt-out)
  10. Rollins, Ortiz, Tex and ARod are all on next year's ballot. It will be interesting to see how many votes each get. Aside from ARod, the other guys are probably behind Bonds, Clemens, Schilling, Helton, Jones, Sosa, Rolen, Abreu, Manny. I think Ortiz's "fame" could push him into that group somewhere. Bill James' HOF Monitor (take with large grain of salt) ranks them as: ARod Bonds Clemens Manny Sosa Helton Ortiz Schilling Sheffield Pettitte (yuck) Kent Rollins Vizquel Jones Tex Pierzynski Wagner Rolen Howard Nathan Abreu
  11. Yes, Bonds should be in. 100%. No, ASG aren't the only basis. It certainly helps a player's cause though. 2 ASG are nothing. Guys who have played in 10+ ASG? They probably HOF guys.
  12. I just looked at Harrah's 1980 Topps cards and I don't remember him at all.
  13. Harrah actually had more games at 3b, so he's listed there on the baseball reference list I'm using.
  14. It would be because of his contract and the ease of finding someone to fill his position, plus prospects coming back.
  15. I'm sorry, I thought it was the Hall of FAME.
  16. The most egregious omissions are Bill Dahlen and Jack Glasscock (HOF name BTW). That's neither here nor there. I'm just saying that Vizquel doesn't belong in. Those other guys probably don't either.
  17. No idea, but I can see how today's umpire positioning really hinders their calls on the outside of the plate.
  18. As a fan, I wanted to watch Betts for his whole career. If I take that hat off, I can see why they made the move.
  19. By solid, he meant "hands of stone" and "concrete shoes."
  20. Also, I wouldn't put Tejada/Nomar/Tony Fernandez in the HOF, but they all have a better case than Vizquel.
  21. Tejada: 47.1 bWAR, 15.9 WAA, 6 ASG. All better than Vizquel.
  22. No Reyes has a career bWAR of 37.5. He's not even close. He's not even in the Hall of Very Good.
  23. Also, let's not let the people off the hook who said JD HAS NO TRADE VALUE. YOU COULD ONLY TRADE HIM FOR CHRIS DAVIS! Those people were clearly more down on JD than moon or me.
  24. Plus, JD will never be here as long as Ortiz was or be as marketable as Ortiz was. Can't compare the two.
