It shows a concern for his OBP though. His slugging is heavily impacted by his HR/FB ratio. Maybe that can continue during the summer months, but it's not a good outlook for Sept/Oct.

@redsoxstats Kiké didn't play on June 16-18, since his return on the 19th he's gone 9-30, 4 2B, 3 HR, 5 BB, 6 K, 300/395/733 His batting is approaching league average, he's +5 defensive runs saved, and he's on pace for a 3-3.5 bWAR season.

Having your 1b hit in the 9th hole isn't ideal. 1b is the second highest OPS on average behind DH. It's basically the Sox punting a strong offensive position.

Duran will definitely weaken the defense short term. Whoever becomes starting CFer (Verdugo or Duran) will be a downgrade. Also, moving Kiké to 2b hurts defense there if he is the starter. However, it would strengthen the offensive lineup considerably.

Nope. You keep Devers at 3b because you have nobody to replace that production there. Then you promote Casas who already is a good glove and can outhit Dalbec.

Devers - 0 DRS, -1 UZR/150 Dalbec - -8 DRS -1.9 UZR/150 It makes no sense to move Devers off 3b right now. He's fine at 3b.

@redsoxstats Red Sox have to face Danny Duffy tonight but it sounds like he's just going to be an opener as they are experimenting with his usage. In 45 innings this year he has a 1.81 ERA and 53 K.
