  1. And run prevention with a strong rotation leads to less HRs. Duh. Instead of giving up 3 HRs, they give up 0 or 1. It's not rocket science here.
  2. The teams that score more runs than the other teams tend to win more often? I think I just fell out of my seat.
  3. That's what it was when I got up to walk the dogs at 5:15 this AM. A little chilly TBH. 10 day forecast says it won't be that cold again.
  4. What was Chapman's last season compared to Banda's last season? You good with his 4.77 xFIP?
  5. Broken hamate check: Francisco Lindor Corbin Carroll Jackson Holiday It's an epidemic this year.
  6. BAL is one of the teams that seems like it's actively trying to get better. They struggled at the start of '25, but were fine after the first 1.5 months or so. They should be a lot tougher this year. A lot of young players, some of which may ever pan out (should be a red flag to the Red Sox and how they are planning things TBH).
  7. If they didn't want Duran before, why would they settle for Masa now? They were holding out for Abreu and Breslow didn't want to give him up.
  8. Was David Ortiz MVP in 2013 because he hit 2 HR's or because he went 11-16, 7 1b, 2 2b, 2 HR, 8 BB? If you get rid of the 2 HR's, he still wins the MVP 100%. He was a great postseason hitter right? On average, he hit less HRs in the postseason than he did in the regular season.
  9. It just "feels true" because of SSS and highlights that are played over and over again.
  10. It just came out yesterday, so no.
  11. '22 should have sold the entire house from day 1 '23 56-50 at the deadline (sell Turner/Duvall/Sale) '24 57-51 at the deadline with a tough schedule coming up (sell Jansen and Martin)
  12. I don't like Cease and Okamoto is a big question mark. I was being kind.
  13. TOR's moves seemed very lateral too me. I thought they were angling for something bigger this offseason.
  14. There are "prospects" but like Breslow said they aren't guys that other organizations value highly. Who is left to trade? Bleis? Cespedes? Nobody cares about those two. Arias? They'll need somebody to take over for Story in two years. Gonzales hasn't made it out of A ball yet and doesn't have much value. The potpourri of pitchers? The already dealt half of them. Mikey Romero? Anybody really want him? Allan Castro? What value is there? There just isn't a lot of prospect capital left to really go out and get a big return right now. You're not going to get a haul for dealing DSL/A ball guys. You just aren't. Teams want near MLB ready guys. The Sox don't have those.
  15. We'll put a poll up at the end of ST that everyone can vote on.
  16. He was pretty good with the O's too. The wheels fell off with the Chris Davis contract and the owner not wanting to keep other players around.
  17. Honestly, he's just not getting fired after year 4. He's getting through year 5 no matter what. The next hiring they do will most likely be internal (Eddie Romero Jr) just because the hiring process has been so toxic than I don't think people around the game will want to come here.
  18. GM of the Offseason award? In the running: Dodgers, Orioles, White Sox
  19. For them to be a 78 win team, there'd have to be a significant injury in the rotation (I won't name names). It could get there. Breslow won't get fired if that happens. I don't see them getting worse than that. I think that's about as bad as it would get this year or next. I don't understand that second paragraph. There aren't any complete sentences included there.
  20. What's left to sell? After Gray is gone this offseason, Tolle/Early take that rotation spot. If you trade the other one, the rotation is paper thin.
  21. How many young guys interviewed last time? Not that many. Most were given raises/promotions and declined to interview.
  22. USA Today is a reputable source? Is it 1987?
  23. I agree with the Tolle assessment. They've always been weirdly low on Early and I've stated as much. I'm lower on Arias than everyone else, so pass. No idea on Witherspoon. Valera's sounds fine?
