    I think we all hope that. Hard to really say when he can follow up the Mountcastle HR with faster pitches than I've seen all year.

    @TomCaron With each loss it gets tighter, but the math remains simple: IF the Sox go 3-2 the rest of the way, the Mariners need to go 3-1 (they have an off day tomorrow) and/or the Blue Jays need to go 4-1 to force a play-in game Monday. Either would need to go undefeated to knock them out

    Considering a BABIP of 300, 50 additional balls in play would be 15 extra hits. I'd say that cancels out a theoretical increase in double plays.

    He's basically pitching like Houck. 1st time through the order: 1.47 ERA, 596 OPSa 2nd time through the order: 3.18 ERA, 831 OPSa 3rd time through the order: 7.20 ERA, 820 OPSa Previously, his 2nd and 3rd times through the order looked more like the 1st.

    I'll take the guy with the 158 WRC+ over the past 5 games for sure.

    And the second everyone started to laud Dalbec's improved defense, he drops a few catchable balls. He has time, but I think Casas is better. If the Sox are really wanting to compete, they need more complete players.

    It just doesn't make sense. Saying I'm pining for someone when I've only mentioned it once. Also, to think I'm offended at anything on here is ridiculous. Thank you for using A700 talking points though. Glad he could be of use to you.

    Makes sense that they'd bring DeShields back since he was here this year and then DFA'd. BTW, DeShields has a 120 WRC+ for the Reds since the Sox DFA'd him. :/

    In a post about no hit/great glove guys, you put Nick Castellanos, Avisail Garcia, Conforto, Blackmon, Calhoun and Jorge Soler in there... Don't just put a bunch of random players in a list THAT DON'T FIT THE PROFILE. C'mon man.

    Did he not K 4 times on Sunday? If I make a statement and you say "well you're wrong." It's up to you to prove me wrong. You haven't. I prefer a guy who puts the ball in play. I'm not sure why you think that's such a controversial statement. It definitely has more sound reasoning that some of the stuff you've put out there before.

    I'm not sure what to expect. I think we need to temper expectations for him going forward. He's 32 and hasn't pitched 160 Innings since 2017. Will he return to the ace we saw 3-4 years ago? Hard to say.
