What's the benefit to his wife saying he doesn't have COVID? We could actually get some payroll tax credits if we could use his time as COVID time. He's out of PTO so he won't be paid going forward. If he had COVID, he would get paid. It seems weird to say that I should be skeptical of someone on a ventilator that doesn't have COVID.
There's a lot of nasty s*** going here around that isn't COVID. My daughter spiked a fever over the weekend. No COVID. Her tests came back negative for everything. RSV has been rampant in the infant class at our kids' school. A lot of people here are getting pneumonia without a positive COVID test. COVID is no joke, but there's lots of other stuff running around right now too.
I realize that FL has fudged the numbers for political purposes. I know people here both vaccinated and unvaccinated that have gotten COVID. One of my wife's friends got COVID and was on a ventilator. He developed double pneumonia. He lost 20 pounds while in the hospital and he was a big dude who did strongman competitions. It's scary as hell. After getting discharged from the hospital, he had to go back a few days later due to blood clots. Now he's sitting at home doing breathing exercises. His big goal is to be able to hold his breath for 10 seconds at a time. He can barely do that. It's f***ed up.
Anyway, get vaccinated everyone. Wear a mask. Don't run around doing whatever you feel like regardless of your vaccination status.
