  1. He could go from "best player of my lifetime" to "remember a guy" status really quick. All those people spending $500 on an ungraded Trout 2011 rookie might be regretting their purchase in a few years.
  2. Once you get to the 18th post of a thread, we tend to lose the plot.
  3. No mention of Daniel Gossett's start over the weekend? Player of the Day: When a pitcher carries a no-hitter through eight innings, they're an easy choice for player of the day. Daniel Gossett retired the first 10 hitters he faced, then after a walk, set down 14 consecutive IronPigs before he was done in by a single to lead off the final inning. It was a tremendous outing for the 28-year-old, as it was the first time he pitched even into the eighth inning this season. The Clemson product missed 2019 and had a solid return to baseball in 2021, pitching to a 4.22 ERA across 98 innings. I know he's really in the post-prospect stage of his career, but near no hitters should always get a mention. He missed 2 seasons due to injury and COVID. Maybe he gets another shot on the taxi squad?
  4. No, it's actually the same thing.
  5. Trout was having a tremendous season before that. 190 WRC+, 2.3 fWAR, 1090 OPS And he's still only 29 somehow. Missing out on about 200 games of his prime will be interesting for his career numbers.
  6. There was some madness though. Having 4 teams still in it on game 162 was something else.
  7. Also, the argument that a manager needs to win the MOY because James Paxton got injured is hilarious. I guess every manager that James Paxton has played with should have one of those in his closet.
  8. SEA can have the MOY as a consolation prize for another year where they miss the playoffs. An award like that is their version of the World Series. They may even put a banner up for it.
  9. I'm not sure I'd pitch Ottavino in any meaningful innings going forward.
  10. As long as your wagon doesn't have a 1b mitt.
  11. This is an open poll. I believe everyone can click on the numbers above and see the results. 90-94 Maxbialystock, Swiharts Ghost 87-89 Kimmi 84-86 moonslav59, mvp 78 80-83 Bellhorn04, Elktonnick, harmony, oldtimer 75-79 5GoldGloves:OF,75, a700hitter, Noles_1335
  12. Don't pat yourself on the back too hard there old man. I only started the game thread on Friday because even you were down in the dumps and being poopy.
  13. 1st Half: 5.52 ERA, 4.98 K/BB, 1.41 HR/9, 1.37 WHIP, .361 BABIP, 3.37 xFIP 2nd Half: 3.71 ERA, 3.12 K/BB, 0.66 HR/9, 1.41 WHIP, .365 BABIP, 3.52 xFIP Seems like his 1st half was just really unlucky.
  14. ALDS start on Thurdsay?
  15. They did the damn thing.
  16. Sale vs Adon Adon’s first career start. Had a 5 ERA in MiLB this season. Sale needs to make up for the Mountcastle HR. Let’s go!!!
  17. Sale should be moved to middle relief ASAP! ERod can be setup man! Devers? Bench bat!
  18. Moving your best starter to closer is actually smart because you want your best pitcher to face less batters over the course of the playoffs!
  19. What a shame.
  20. TBD vs Gray Cora is still working on who will go later today. Gray is a good prospect but very beatable. Will Cora dare to through that Wednesday night beer league softball OF out there again?!?
  21. Yanks lose
  22. GG Martinez
  23. Brasier has been doing work.
  24. Treat time for the doggies.
