    Ok, but I don't think run differential is the end all be all. I imagine that a high octane offense like the Jays would feast on bad pitching, but struggle against good pitching. This can turn around once the younger guys mature a little bit. I think they'll be much better in the following years, especially if they dump their sack of potatoes coach.

    Yes, Verdugo is better in LF. However, if we are comparing Duran vs Verdugo in CF, Verdugo can hit and Duran cannot. Verdugo came up as a CFer in the Dodgers organization. He doesn't look lost out there. He just doesn't have Duran's athleticism. However, Duran just looks very uncomfortable in CF. He gets poor reads and speed can only make up a small part of a missed first step. Verdugo has the instincts to play CF, it'll just be underwhelming. Duran has no instincts and is worse than Verdugo. If the Opening Day lineup next year had Verdugo AND Duran in it, I'd have Verdugo in CF and Duran in LF.

    The Mariners are fine. Could they get into the WC game? Sure. I think all of the teams mentioned (Sox, Yanks, Jays, A's, M's) all have good upside, but all the parts aren't quite there yet. None of them are far ahead of the others.

    They apparently do them monthly during the season, but don't do one after the trade deadline (when Dalbec turned up).

    @JoeyMacHockey Hearing Seabold, Ort, Herrmann and Lopez all called up to join Red Sox' taxi squad for upcoming road trip. Seabold is highly likely to make his first appearance.

    No, I'd say the hand getting hit in the hand by a pitch is bad luck. With COVID, these guys are making their own luck. He apparently had really rough go of it, but we were also told that the vaccinated players that caught COVID only had mild cases. Clearly, dum dum should have gotten the jab jab.

    Ugly. UZR/150 really fluctuates over a small sample size, but he's been worse than Verdugo.

    @redsoxstats In 30 games since August 1st Hunter Renfroe is batting .302/.347/.690 over 124 plate appearances with 9 2B, 12 HR, and 29 RBI. His 172 wRC+ in that time ranks 5th behind Harper, Cron, Schwindel, and Soto (min. 120 PA). Dalbec has 99 PA and a 200 WRC+ in that timeframe.

    2018 - 3 separate trips to the IL 2019 - forearm injury ends his season 2020 - rehab slowed start to the year, was DFA'd and put at alternate training site, ended 2020 with ongoing back spasms that flared up on 9/19 2021 - 4 trips to IL (left hand, knee, hamstring, COVID-19)

    How much shorter do you really think MiLB seasons are? C'mon man... The difference between a 162 game season and a 140ish game season, wouldn't be THAT much of a factor in games started. You really think the Rays/Giants were sitting a 1st round pick on the bench?

    Verdugo came up in the Dodgers system as a CFer. I would suggest that the results have been bad. -4.8 UZR/150 career CF 9 UZR/150 career LF -0.3 UZR/150 career RF
