I liked Richards and even thought "just make him the closer" but I would not have them pick up the option. That's just too much money for him. You could decline the option and still bring him back at less money.

His burden is much less substantial than Price's. Stroman also has a lot less miles on his arm.

I said Verdugo's 2020 seemed to be an aberration. Bogey's numbers were average per fWAR. He had his career year in 2019. Devers had a career year in 2019 as well. Seems like this year is a more reasonable expectation. And per fWAR, ERod's year was average.

A 5 year deal gets him to age 35. Seems fine to me.

ERod vs Rogers I told myself that I wouldn't make another game thread this year, but it looks like everyone else has turtled. We're sweeping the Nats and getting to the dumb WC game. Rogers feasted on the lowly Pirates and Miami offences (30th and 28th in runs and OPS, respectively). When Rogers faced the Mets and the Reds, his ERA was 5.29.
