  1. Looks like he won't be.... dancing on his own this season....
  2. And yet he hasn't been called "dutchy" or "babe" yet. Interesting.........
  3. Is it being "stingy" or keeping long term payroll lower for "flexibility" and staying away from dead money (a la Price and Pedroia)?
  4. How would they get MORE information than other clubs?
  5. This is one of the personal issues that I can't put any effort into following. It used to be that every poster went after A700 24/7. Now, it's moon. Heavy lies the crown.
  6. I would say that I think the ownership has different values now in 2021 than they did in 2011. Theo did what was asked of him. He fed the monster pretty well. Dombrowski did what was asked of him. Push the pedal to the medal in win another championship. I think ownership is more $$$ conscience today than they were a few years ago.
  7. Which is fine if you have talent coming up through your system, but we're not quite there yet.
  8. There's zero chance they are signing Correa. None. It's probably going to be Schwarber/Iggy/2 relief arms. If that.
  9. "All that bad" "17.5AAV" He needs be substantially better than "not all that bad."
  10. If they don't go over the lux tax cap again, this 10M is a huge waste for 2022.
  11. I don't think Bloom is going to sign any of the QO guys. There will be a big draft class next season. An offseason of Wacha/Paxton/2 bargain relievers/Iggy isn't leaving me very fulfilled.
  12. I have lots of faith in injury prone pitchers as they age into their mid 30's.
  13. Not heartbroken over this.
  14. That's a plot twist they could definitely film in Culver City.
  15. If he starts 5 games, it'll be more innings than he's pitched in the past 24 months. My expectations were low, but 10M for 2 months of Paxton?
  16. The option years better be good.
  17. Wants some regression after having a healthy 2021 starting rotation.
  18. Great value at 3M. Not sure he'll repeat his performance. Value at 7+ is questionable IMO.
  19. Renfroe had a negative UZR. Those 12 errors aren't helping either. I think moving Verdugo to RF would improve the team defense.
  20. Not if the ARB is going to continue to increase. I like Renfroe, but I wouldn't pay him 9M.
  21. Not sure at 7M.
  22. Schwarber is a stretch this year, but he'll be DH going forward when JD leaves next offseason. He seemed to fit really well with the clubhouse. You can play him at 1b for 1/2 a year until Casas is ready. Maybe he has a full year at 1b because Casas isn't called up until 2023? Maybe they bring Schwarber in for LF and decide to non-tender Renfroe?
  23. "Hey, Bloom. You did ok last year, but can you try extra hard this offseason?" "Ok." "If you got time to lean, you got time to clean." "Ok. Sorry."
  24. @ChrisCotillo Source: Red Sox have signed infielder Rob Refsnyder to a minor-league deal. 30-year-old former Yankee spent 2021 with Twins, appeared in 51 games.
  25. I think they are also waiting to see who is non-tendered.
