  1. Replacing Masa with a healthy Casas and eating most of Masa's salary seems fine to me.
  2. It's not misleading. Just run the positional splits yourself. Divide the 2025 DHs in half. It's still more than 2005. You stated there was a trend towards less fulltime DHs, but I can't find the evidence.
  3. Do they want to win by having the best roster possible, or just the best roster within a set CBT limit? We all know how much revenue they bring in every year.
  4. I don't understand the framing of "the league is heading towards more rotational DHs." If you go back 20 years, there are MORE fulltime DHs in 2025 than in 2005.
  5. I'd rather have Hicks and Masa than Arenado.
  6. They'd be able to trade him at some point. Maybe get Casas healthy or see KC start to mash and then deal. Right now, they are kind of stuck with an albatross contract that other orgs laughed at when it was signed.
  7. No, they should be a mediocre to bad hitter. Maybe a guy that could barely hit 12-15 HR's if he eating all his Wheaties.
  8. They would get rid of him, not because he's a fulltime DH, but because he's an overpaid mediocre to bad fulltime DH (24th in wRC+ for DH's '23-25).
  9. Bobby Dalbec 20-21 per 162: 29 2b/3b, 34 HR, 114 OPS+ Vientos 24-25 per 162: 31 2b/3b, 31 HR, 115 OPS+
  10. Massive DH contracts have always been an exception. Papi never really got paid. Nelson Cruz was always a year to year guy. Guys like JD Martinez and Schwarber are almost unicorns in that they are fulltime DH's that got PAID.
  11. Don't trade Duran just because you have a payroll problem with Masa. Fix the payroll problem. You have big pockets. Move Masa and throw money in the deal.
  12. I think there are a few guys aside from Schwarber that show that it's more than just exceptions: Ozuna, Rooker, Yandy, Raffy and even Suzuki who is only 31 (and is still a decent OF defender per the metrics).
  13. Half the league basically has fulltime DH's. The other half doesn't have someone good enough on their roster to be a fulltime DH.
  14. Acquire one guy, start Mayer at the other position. That seems like what is going to happen. Duran is most likely going to be a Red Sox on Opening Day considering the reports we've heard and I'm fine with it. Either trade him for a haul of prospects or keep him around IMO.
  15. Aside from hitting the ball hard, it's not a profile the Sox are interested in right now.
  16. If he's putting up those types of numbers, he gets called up TBH. Seems unlikely to be traded unless another team is overvaluing him right now.
  17. I think Vientos is a 1b only guy now and his bat isn't very good. Seems like he has AAAA written all over him and is more of a thrown in for a larger deal.
  18. Cora likes Eaton's VERSATILITY so he seems like a lock to me.
  19. Why would they trade a prospect for Vientos?
  20. Having a current issue where the screen is just flashing when using Chrome and logged in. The only time it doesn't do it is when the "sign up for talk sox in your email" pop up comes from the bottom of the screen. Not sure if it has to do with the ads or that pop up.
  21. Don't see them going below the cap this year. Doesn't make sense to with the current CBA expiring.
  22. If they don't trade Duran, Abreu will still platoon. KC could be a RHB OFer eventually, but it won't be at the start of the year. If he was ready and able, Masa would be out of the picture. There would also be less handwringing about the missing bat.
  23. If it was a best of 3, they wouldn't have advanced past CLE and only scored 3 runs that series.
  24. I'm not the one making the lineup cards or the statement of Eaton's abilities to the media.
  25. Abreu doesn't hit vs LHP. Yankees started Fried and Rodon in the Games 1 and 2. Abreu started against Schlittelr and k'd twice with one weak popout to 3b.
