  1. No. If you combine all his numbers since 2016, he's not a 1 fWAR player.
  2. Pedro Martinez.
  3. My vote for first half manager of the year would go to Charlie Montoyo.
  4. jacko isn't really an irony bro. That's not what he's built his posting career on.
  5. They are completely different pitchers. Diekman's issues are the neverending walks. If he stopped walking guys, he could be a closer. Diekman's Statcast is lit up red like a Christmas tree except for BB% (bottom 1%), xOBP (bottom 3%). His EV is bottom 23, but it is offset by a Brl rate of top 81. I can see why Bloom took a chance on Diekman for at least one year when you look at the metrics.
  6. Valdez and Sawamura? I don't seem them dumping Dreckman until next season.
  7. Per Statcast: Exit Velocity: Bottom 5% Hard Hit %: Bottom 5% BB%: Top 5% He's not walking a lot of guys, but guys are really squaring him up. He was "good" in June, but that may be more due to BABIP luck than anything else.
  8. I'd prefer keeping him at 2b, but it depends on what the plan would be for SS.
  9. He is the 4th Chris Murphy listed on Baseball Reference. None of the others had an MLB appearance. I read through his twitter timeline and I can confirm that he gets the MVP seal of approval for being a cool dude.
  10. It's like the bizzaro Red Sox system right now.
  11. If Snell is available, I'd like the Sox to make an offer better than the M's offer.
  12. I wouldn't do Murphy for Bell.
  13. Is Chris Murphy the most under the radar top 10 prospect in recent memory? Starting pitching profile (now that he can get RHB out) that produces low SLG and an xERA below 2 at AA/AAA.
  14. Rays broadcast jinxed Brasier into that walk.
  15. I think it's hard to really pinpoint these guys down to an exact slot. I think there's a general range where a guy fits in. Hickey feels adequately placed when surrounded by Binelas, Wong (who is making the case for being the BOS backup in 2023) and Ward. Kavadas seems to fit in with Drohan, German and Bonaci. With Hickey, I think there are still questions about his glove and if he can stick at Catcher. With Kavadas, he seems to really be a DH only profile which is why he's 29th rather than knocking on the top 20 door. Because Seabold has good control, he can dominate AAA. The problem is, his stuff isn't good enough for the next level. Until I see it work there, I'm not sure I can believe in it. Think of Denyi Reyes in 2017-2018. He breezed through the low minors because of his control with ERAs in the 1's and low 2's. https://www.milb.com/player/denyi-reyes-660593 He eventually hit the wall where his stuff couldn't play up anymore. He has been getting smacked around in AAA this year in BAL, but has made some brief appearances for their MLB team (even starting in Fenway on 5/28).
  16. No, it's not Franchy's fault. Bloom needs to find a 1b that can be better than Dalbec is in 2022.
  17. Snell's statcast line isn't all that bad. His FIP of 3.56 is solid as well, much better than the 4.66 FIP. His last two starts: @LAD 5 IP 12 K, 1 ER SF 6 IP, 11 K, 1 ER I think the Pad's would be dumb to give up on him if they want to stay competitive. They have 6 starters, but Gore has never thrown 100 innings in a season professionally. If they are moving Snell, they better be getting something really good back.
  18. Yeah, about 10 years from now.
  19. Think of it less as "shortening" and more as "optimizing."
  20. Washington just seems like a dumb organization and would ask for too much for Bell. Bell is also NOT a good 1b. Cron gets signed to 1 year deals every offseason and isn't valued highly. Rockies are going nowhere. I think you can get Cron pretty easily. I'd try to get him sooner than later.
  21. I was saying that Cron has 4 DRS, not Franchy. Franchy is a -3 DRS at 1b. Bad.
  22. Right, with Betts/Raffy/Xander. That's the core.
  23. Bell is a bad 1b. I'd trade for Cron.
  24. That would make for terrible baseball in Boston. They would have to pick an alternate site for the games to be played at.
