Red Sox expiring contracts: Xander, Eovaldi, JD, Vazquez, Kiké, Wacha, Hill, Strahm, Davis
Rays expiring contracts: Kiermaier (team option), Zunino, Kluber, Wisler
Jays expiring contracts: Stripling, Romo
The core of the Rays and Jays is intact beyond 2023. The Red Sox are in a state of flux with a ton of players leaving at the end of the year. Does it make more sense for the Sox to just let the players go without getting anything back for them? That doesn't make business sense to me. That's just my opinion. Other posters want to take a chance on another postseason run, believing that it's all just a crapshoot and this team has as good a chance as any other team. I just don't see it that way. I think there is a greater impetus for this year's Sox to sell than the Jays or Rays or any other recent Sox team. It's a unique case.
