  1. I'd consider taking Flexen over Eovaldi/Walker/Taillon.
  2. Who has 4 years on him? Nate: born 2/90 Taillon: born 11/91 Walker: born 8/92
  3. What's a "good" season? 5 fWAR? Higher? Arenado opted into 5X30 after having a 7 fWAR season. He's older, but he's been the mark of consistency. 2015-19 5.9 - 6.5 fWAR 2022 7.3 fWAR
  4. It's just wishful thinking by people in the Boston area. Need to keep those newspaper sales up and those radios tuned in?
  5. We'll have to see if our guess are right or if jacko's was.
  6. The Rays color scheme is better than the Sox color scheme.
  7. Taillon will be 31. We're not talking long term deals or anything either.
  8. I'd take Eovaldi over Taillon and Walker. Probably Taillon over Walker.
  9. @brendan_camp November 19, 2022: Boston Red Sox signed free agent RHP Breilin Arredondo to a minor league contract. Assigned to DSL Red
  10. The poll is closed. You can answer however you want. I just didn't want the Devers updates to get constantly buried in the only two posts that are posted to in the offseason.
  11. Senga seems fine. I'm not sure on Taillon. He is very inconsistent from start to start. Is he just a more expensive version of Wacha?
  12. I think Mata winds up being a late inning reliever, but a very good one.
  13. Bullpen arm is most likely option.
  14. The downside to 2012-13 offseason was: Purchased the contracts of Alex Wilson, Steven Wright, Dan Butler, and Alex Hassan from Pawtucket and Allen Webster and Christian Vazquez from Portland. Followed by: Houston Selected Josh Fields in the MLB Phase of the Rule 5 Draft Minnesota Selected Ryan Pressly in the MLB Phase of the Rule 5 Draft
  15. Brock Holt?
  16. Craig Breslow was really good in 2013 too.
  17. Everyone always forgets Mike Carp.
  18. But were fans really excited about the Flyin' Hawaiian, Napoli, et al? I don't remember it being all that "exciting" TBH.
  19. Even the guys at SoxProspects have suggested as much even just for a year. Give him some phoney title and overpay him. The Sox clearly like their guys, but this is a results driven business. I'm not sure BOH has really shown us much at this point.
  20. If the Rays had NY's budget, they would be at the tippy top IMO.
  21. As long as their offers keep going up, I'm fine with it. In other instances that we've spoken about endlessly, the offers just stopped and the players were offered fair market value elsewhere.
  22. @BeyondtheMnstr Jon Heyman of the New York Post says that the Boston Red Sox have offered All-Star third baseman Rafael Devers “$220M or so.” Heyman says there’s optimism that both sides can bridge the gap and come to an agreement on a deal.
  23. The last decent offseason was 2017-2018: JD Braiser MiLB deal (I know) Mitch Moreland re-signed And that's still fairly boring.
  24. The Rays without Ybor City?
