  1. I think he could be a little cheaper due to age, QO and maybe his comfort level in BOS?
  2. Hard to say what Ward is? Even pre-surgery, he seemed to get bye in spite of his high bb rate. SoxProspects liked him, but were unsure how his stuff would play at higher levels. Walter should be a fair back end of the rotation guy, but coming the injury is a question mark. Always old for his level, but did well in AA. Murphy is probably just a reliever, I'll give you that. They may give him a few spot starts. Mata should be the best out of this bunch. I think he'd be a lights out late inning guy if he scrapped one of his offspeed pitches.
  3. There's always room for Aaron Cooke and Carlos "Hi Ho" Silva.
  4. Depending on what happens this offseason: Mata, Murphy, Walter, Ward.
  5. Rosters ARE larger now. Did any MLB teams go with a 6 man rotation for a significant stretch during 2022? I don't remember it happening.
  6. It makes him an obvious EVERY TEAM target. The problem is that you pay a premium to bring him here. Is it worth it?
  7. Are we talking 4 years for Eovaldi and 4 years for Taillon? Since 2016: Eovaldi 3.93 k/bb, xFIP 3.79 Taillon 3.66 k/bb, xFIP 3.89 It probably comes down to personal preference.
  8. I used to post a lot more from home, but then your kind showed up.
  9. Correa has done it 5 times in 8 years and is 2 years younger. (You're dinging 20 year old Correa with a 135 OPS+ who played half the season in AA and AAA?) Bogey has done it 5 times in 8 years and is 2 years older. If you change the metrics to any plate appearances with OPS+ 124 or better: Correa is 6 out of last 8 years Bogey is 5 out of last 8 years
  10. Every time I make an intelligent post, I need to follow it up with one that uses negative brain cells that only amuses myself.
  11. I agree. My preference is to Bogey as it should help with re-signing Raffy and I believe the Sox could move Xander off position once a younger guy is ready for SS.
  12. What's Taillon's upside? 3 fWAR? His velo is 2 mph down from his 3+ fWAR days in 17-18. I don't think that's coming back in this lifetime.
  13. I'm fine with it.
  14. It's 220, but we don't know the years mentioned. 220/8 220/10 I'm not sure Devers signs for that until he tests the market.
  15. Figure it out later.
  16. Would I want Walker for 4 years? Probably not. I'm not sure I'd want Taillon for 4 year either. You'd be paying a premium for Nick Pivetta production.
  17. Alex Colomé 1/3M
  18. It's going to be a 2yr Jake McGee signing.
  19. He'll need to find someone who can build a bullpen for him.
  20. I'm still not sold on our plan.
  21. At that point, it's usually for an expiring contract. Just go over and reset after the season.
  22. And Bogey has only done that once in 2018-2019? Bogey's defense impoved BUT ONLY WHEN SHIFTED. WHOOPS.
  23. The money is going to buying the Washington Commanders.
  24. Flexen is cheap money, but it would really depend on the trade. His statcast page resembles Walker. I think of the group, Eovaldi has the best chance to give you a top of the rotation type season. He's also the most volatile due to injury.
