  1. No, not on 40 man.
  2. https://www.mlb.com/prospects He's the 7th ranked prospect in all of baseball. I'll hitch my wagon to him with no regrets. We see him in BOS in 2023.
  3. Hard to envision them DFA'ing Taylor or Brasier after they just signed them prior to ARB. My honest guess is Ort or Mills DFA or trade of Duran, Dalbec, Winck, Murph or Houck.
  4. IMO, the 38th, 39th and 40th men on the roster are WOO guys, not the backup 1B or RFer.
  5. Yeah, don't build the team around a franchise SS. Good idea.
  6. The signed Edwin Diaz yesterday. Expect more of those MIFers.
  7. The bridgiest of all bridge years. Waiting on Mayer and Rafaela and more.
  8. Hamilton will play most of the season at WOO. Probably won't make BOS unless he really starts to hit or if the injuries pile up.
  9. I'd rather Kiké in CF, Andrus at SS than Duvall in CF and Kiké at SS. Steamer and FanGraphs projections seem to agree with that as well. My guess is Andrus is just holding out for a multi-year deal?
  10. I expressed concern about Duvall in CF and Verdugo in RF yesterday. Verdugo's brother posted that Alex had a fractured toe last April and May and played through it. Alex focused on adding size and strength last season "but the ball changes hurt him." This offseason he's following the BOS training plan and is working on getting leaner in quicker. Mentioned that "Alex was in top 10 unluckiest hitters in MLB last year. 2023 will be a laser show." We'll see about that. If he can play like he did in 2020, it should work out. I still think Kiké isn't a great SS. Wonder if Duvall is the last major move the Sox make...
  11. 1 year/7M Seems fine? I still would rather Kiké in CF.
  12. Yes, sir.
  13. I'd do that trade. Are the Yankees better after that? Probably not. Sox would still need to add a SS and leave Kiké in CF.
  14. They are signing him for CF? Kiké just isn't a very good SS IMO. If they are just sliding Kiké there, it's making the defense worse. C McGuire 1B Casas 2B Arroyo SS Andrus 3B Devers RF Duvall CF Kiké LF Yoshida is much better than putting Kiké at SS, Verdugo at RF and Duvall in CF.
  15. He'll be better than anyone else they currently have in RF.
  16. I guess you could call that MLB experience...
  17. "Boo, you suck Seabold. Your changeup has been absolute s*** since you got injured." Seems like an ok job.
  18. Sam Travis has a similar skillset to Joey Votto. I don't think they should give up on him so quickly. Development is not linear. Remember, even Martin Perez got better at age 31.
  19. @Feinsand The Rockies have acquired RHP Connor Seabold from the Red Sox for a player to be named later or cash considerations, per source.
  20. Scott probably spends the full season in AA working on his catching. He's still really new to it. Maybe they do a conga line thing with him and Hickey, but neither is very good back there from what I've heard.
  21. I like that he's feisty. They just need to harness it in the right manner.
  22. They already had 2 that can't opt out. Alfaro can opt out. This doesn't solve that issue.
  23. They got Perez, held onto him for 2 mediocre seasons and then he had a career year after leaving. Do I believe that his really low HR rate and high LOB% will continue in 2023? Hell no. Will he be worth 20M? That's like 2.4 fWAR or so. Maybe? That rotation is filled with lots of ifs though. At least he can give them innings.
  24. I don't know. He seems to get upset by all sort of things.
  25. They did that trade probably because both were likely to be DFA'd. You have to undo the trade and tell Bloom to stick with Springs.
