  1. The odds of him getting 650 PA's would probably be 1000 to 1. Higher? Over/Under 250 PA/s?
  2. Only 28 players got there last year, but his chances are infinitely better than yours.
  3. Nobody really knows. In the end, if he's a 3 fWAR guy, he'll be worth the contract.
  4. Also just need to save room for callups (Tapia, Alfaro, etc.).
  5. It's the best fit for him IMO.
  6. Taylor is better than Garrett when healthy.
  7. Bloom has built this team around a lot of older or recently injured players. Which ones do you think are likely to miss multiple weeks due to injury? Select all that apply! This is a poll, please give me a few minutes to put the options up.
  8. If he's the guy, you don't let the market develop.
  9. Mondesi has played both 2B and SS. I think he has a good bit of upside, which Bloom loves. I would have rather that they found a starting SS to plug in just for the year, but I don't think that guy exists. Maybe Story will be back at some point?
  10. Will he end up with numbers like 2018-19? No. Will he k a lot and take very few bb's? Yes. Does he still have his speed post ACL surgery (68 SB per 162G from '18-'21)? Who knows! My gut tells me that he's not the everyday SS though.
  11. If he can play the 50% of the games that Arroyo will miss! Would this be a win if they had dealt Brasier instead of the oft injured Taylor?
  12. I guess Mondesi is the backup 2B/SS. Taylor was a good pitcher when healthy, but who knows if he'll be able to get back there this year.
  13. Taylor 2.4 Mondesi 1.5 PTBNL Bloom taken to the cleaners on a trade again. Wow...
  14. @BOSSportsGordo Many Red Sox fans wanted Josh Taylor to be non-tendered. Instead, they acquire Adalberto Mondesi and a PTBNL for him.
  15. I agree on the Beni/Renfroe deja vu and questioning both decisions. From all reports, Sox scouts have drooled over Yoshida for years. Bloom jumped at the chance to get their guy. Let's see if it works out.
  16. 1. Jon Morosi of MLB Network recently suggested the Sox would like to bring Andrus aboard as a non-roster invitee. LOL 2. Diamondbacks need a SS. 3. ChiSox need a 2b and Andrus said he'd be willing to play 2B next to Anderson. 4. Angels could be a fit. 5. Depth: Braves, Rockies
  17. Late inning arm this year? I can see it.
  18. Andrus could retire and it wouldn't impact the Red Sox at all. If he wants multiple years, the answer is no.
  19. He signed for 10.5M in '21 and 4M in '22. Must be even cheaper in '23.
  20. 28 other teams did not have dedicated closers. In 2012, 21 relievers had 25+ saves. In 2022, there were only 11.
  21. By the Sox? No. By someone else? Probably.
  22. If JBJ wasn't 12M, maybe it's not an issue? If they can sign him for cheap money, I'm not opposed to the idea. If he's still the 20 wRC+ guy through Memorial Day and the glove isn't making up for it, just move on. It's not like Elvis Andrus really guarantees the Sox a hot bat.
  23. 10 days until we can cry about how much the cost of gas is affecting the Henry's checkbook on Truck Day.
