  1. Ferguson hit 181 in Greenville last year... Getting 51 SB's in Low A isn't a big deal in the least. He is unranked in the SoxProspects top 60. Abreu and Hamilton aren't projected to have an impact on this season's roster.
  2. And that % is even higher if you go to Navy. Sad! Since 1979, Navy has had 3 seasons where the football program has had a .750 winning % or better.
  3. Management was basically drunk 75% of the time back then and stealing from the team the other 25% of the time.
  4. I'm going to disagree that Schreiber is too good. His velo has ticked back down to pre-2022 levels. There's a good chance that he was a one year wonder. Ort, Kelly and Crawford are the easiest to move down right now.
  5. He has NOT looked good so far. He can come back up later if he turns it around.
  6. Cardona? He got an EXEMPTION on basically day 1.
  7. Wrong! It goes back to 1892. The various rules around it have slightly changed over the years. Cecil Cooper was taken in the 1970 Rule 5 draft by the Cardinals but was sent back to the Sox.

  9. The Navy let Joe Cardona skip his assignment right out of college to just be a long snapper for the Patriots. They did the same for Keenan Reynolds in the same NFL Draft.
  10. Navy should get rid of their sports programs then.
  11. Pitchers just have to adjust their cadence. If there are speed guys on base, don't wait until 1 second is left.
  12. It has been a butts race ever since Anaconda came out in 1997.
  13. Nah, it's not like he was flying black hawks for the army.
  14. I think some may want to explore both. They'll have to pick one over the other prior to going to school.
  15. If Sale struggles in his next few starts, it'll be hard to keep Bello down. Crawford is probably up and down as needed. Can keep him in the rotation in WOO. Ort should have 2 innings and a 0.00 ERA right now.
  16. There could be a squeeze, but more likely an injury. If no injury, it's easy enough to move the lowest rung back to WOO for now. I just worry that they hold onto Brasier for too long. I'm not sure what to make of Paxton's chances for coming back. He's never pitched out of the pen, so it's more likely they'd push Pivetta out there. I can't count on Paxton though. I think I'd rather Pivetta being an inning eater anyway? IDK. Kluber Sale Whitlock/Houck Bello Paxton/Pivetta
  17. It was a dream, just like the Newhart Show.
  18. George Scott is going to be honored at tonight's game! I hope the Sox can hit a lot of taters in his memory.
  19. He's my grandfather in law (wife's grandfather). It's great that my kids actually get to be around him and have fond memories of their great grandfather. We just helped move him to an Assisted Living facility that is at the end of our neighborhood. My dad is also a Red Sox fan and I can guarantee that he knew who Kluber, Turner and Duvall are. He's much more on the positive side of things than the grandfather in law.
  20. He said he did play catch regularly, but it was nothing like training to pitch.
  21. No, they should have let him get out sooner. They have done so for other players. David Robinson only served for 2 years, for example. The problem is that the rules have changed over and over and Song was kind of stuck in limbo. Unfortunately, it could make students think a potential military commitment and a future athletic employment being incompatible.
  22. Bleier should be the closer. He has a -0.78 xFIP! I would have to see some regression before I thought about moving Winckowski. He has been more than solid.
  23. They quietly gave Cora a 2 year extension because of last year's pigs. Wonder what they'll have to do if it happens this year.
  24. Well, he is 92 and he's had a lot of stuff going on in his life since 2020. I'll leave it at that. He gets a pass from me. He'll watch all 161 Sox games available on MLV.tv or local cable this year.
  25. It's really the best advertisement for the Navy. Do you have a promising career and sports and like the Navy? Look at this high profile Noah Song case! Handled so well!
