  1. Is Vaz catching Sale, Kluber and Crawford too?
  2. Wikelman 2018 IFA (DD) - ETA 2025! Perales 2019 IFA (DD) - ETA 2026! ERC 2021 Draft - ETA 2026! Paez 2021 IFA - ETA 2026! Unless Mata or Walter is going to come up and be lights out, there is no path to fixing the rotation this year outside of the veterans turning it around. Sale - who knows what he can do??? He just hasn't really pitched in forever. Kluber - bad outing and should be able to at least be a mid-rotation guy. Whitlock - hasn't been a fulltime starter in MLB. Bello - showed promise after first few starts last season. Maybe a #2? Paxton - always injured. Can't count on him for even 5 starts this season. Pivetta - fine as a #5. As we all said in the offseason, this rotation has a high ceiling, but a very low floor. Right now, we are seeing the floor.
  3. Is it the pitching or the catchers, sir?
  4. Is he pitching too?
  5. I think it will get better, but the early results are f***ing bad!
  6. Who is he currently developing?
  7. Aside from Sale, there isn't much left to blame on DD. Maybe the lack of talent in the high minors, but Bloom made enough trades (or should have) to fix that.
  8. The budget is Bloom's. If he can't find room for a starting rotation, that's his fault...
  9. They sign IFA's. The IFA's are just FAR away. All of the upcoming Bloom SP's are IFA's.
  10. Wong's CERA with Crawford? YUCK!
  11. Not sure how they’ll split it, but 60/40 sounds about right.
  12. Yes, also not a very good pitcher though.
  13. I’m down in God’s Country and could see it on MLB.tv. Unfortunately, Youk and DO couldn’t see it from the pressbox. Sad!
  14. @jcmccaffrey Adam Duvall won AL player of the week, his first player of the week award in his 10-year career. In three games, he hit three doubles, a triple, two homers, had eight RBI and six runs scored.
  15. The starters were 18th in fWAR in 2022. They were not a good rotation. The plan was bad. It relied on older, injury prone guys. We'll see how the rotation holds up for 2023. At some point, I don't think you can keep making excuses about the budget for Bloom. He has had a few years to clear out the old contracts. The only real weight on there now is Sale. The rest of the contracts are all on Bloom. If he can't create a competent rotation because of one bad contract, he needs to go.
  16. Huh? There have been increased steals across the league. Sox were really caught with their pants down though. No teams in 2022 averages a steal per game. In 2023, there are 11 teams averaging at least a steal a game.
  17. He doesn't know how to acquire starting rotation arms under the qualifications he's currently set up.
  18. You weren't impressed with the big jets that flew over Fenway on Opening Day?!??! Sir, you need to hand over your Sox Nation papers for shredding! @TimBritton The Brewers' home opener included a flyover of the stadium. The roof was closed.
  19. And the guys the Orioles had running all over the place were already on the roster last season.
  20. Oh, you're referring to before he even graduated? I don't know anything about that. I thought you were talking about flight school.
  21. My biggest concern with Bloom is the title of the post. 2020 Rotation - s***. One of the two worst rotations in the league. 2021 Rotation - Low key not great aside from Nate! ERod, Richards, Perez all had ERA+ under 100. Success was just health luck. 2022 Rotation - Parade of Injured Pitchers and Ineffectiveness. If the rotation struggles this season, there's question on if Bloom knows how to build a rotation. W
  22. If he left early, he would have to pay back all his financial obligations. That's why he was filing for the the exemption.
  23. Dalbec has started at 3B, SS and 1B in WOO. WOO Manager: “For right now, he’ll play mostly in the infield, but I told him, for the time being, when you’re done in the infield and you’re feeling good, get out and shag some fly balls at the corner outfield spots,” Tracy said. “We’re trying to maximize his ability so he’s able to play different spots. For now we’ll toy with him getting reps and getting balls off the bat and getting used to reads in the corner, and we’ll see where it’s at as far as games there.” He's also wearing prescription glasses while hitting now.
  24. To me, he's lower on the pecking order. If I'm managing the Sox, I'm not sure he's a setup guy going forward.
  25. How aside from repaying for his schooling? He asked for multiple exemptions. He was denied each time until this time.
