  1. Excuse me, but what exactly do you mean by this post?
  2. Ortiz and Crawford with two hits each against a lefty? WS championship in the cards for this team.
  3. Goddamn nice start for Ortiz!
  4. This team will see absolutely every pitcher that can throw a ball from his left hand this year.
  5. Pedroia, Gonzales, or Youkilis. No Crawford plz.
  6. Second game of the season. Even if they lose today, the sky is not yet falling. Food for thought.
  7. John Lackey was "trash" last year? Not the sharpest tool in the shed, are you?
  8. You sure you can't adopt me? I mean, i'm brown and everything but you work in construction and i can earn my keep lifting cinder blocks.
  9. Because he's good? And Jesus f***ing Christ.
  10. But who do you hit 9th? If Ellsbury keeps hitting like he's hitting right now, no reason to hit him 9th, Crawford and his 20 million paycheck are not hitting 9th, and ditto for Pedroia who is the best hitter of the three.
  11. Your lineup has 10 players. Also, unsurprisingly, no Scutaro. He's starting: http://28.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lgr525GWgh1qa1saxo1_500.jpg
  12. Wholeheartedly agree. The fact that he played in Death Valley while Youk plays in hitter's heaven should not be understated. The statistics back it up too. On to the topic of lineup construction, i am a firm advocate of an Ellsbury-Crawford-Pedroia 1-2-3 with Gonzales hitting fourth and Youkilis fifth. I think you could make the case that because of his insane contact abilities, and the power surge he was showing last year, he could be considered the "best" overall hitter on the team, and having him bat third would, because of that, make sense. Also, the idea of Drew leading off doesn't seem particularly necessary with Ellsbury hitting like his life depends on it since the beginning of Spring Training and how much Drew lengthens the lineup when hitting at the bottom of it. My ideal lineup: Ellsbury Crawford Pedroia Gonzales Youkilis Ortiz Saltalamacchia Drew Scutaro
  13. And to think you wanted to punch me in the face when i said Sizemore was an injury risk.
  14. On a positive note, Ellsbury, Cameron, Pedroia, Youkilis and Gonzo looked really good. Besides Bard, the BP looked good, and Lester and Bard will both be OK. Better times ahead.
  15. They scrapped the project due to the lack of a suitable replacement at Closer.
  16. Neftali Feliz is still the closer.
  17. Should we swear not to doubt Ortiz ever again?
  18. That's not the point. The point is that it's a fluke. I'm not saying that he's not extremely tough, but it's most likely going to normalize.
  19. I thought Albers actually looked pretty good.
