    Theo needs to re-plant his strategy. While it may be true that Teixeira wanted to go to New York (we don't really know and never will), his resistance to trading away prospects for young, proven talent is wearing on the core of this team. He had a chance to get Gonzo, and didn't, in fact, had he sacked the f*** up, he might have been able to get Martinez, Lee AND Gonzales without even giving up 6 of this teams' 10 top prospects.

    It would take BALLS to assemble such a team. See, my problem with Theo's philosophy (as much as i value prospects, i follow them like a religion), is that, as a team with nearly limitless monetary resources, you need to be able to recognize the fact that re-stocking the farm system is not an impossible task. Dealing 2 packages of minor league players for lineup fixtures is not a stupid idea as long as you can solidify the team long enough for the next wave of prospects to come in. Think about it. This team is OLD. New blood is needed, and needed now. Dealing a load of prospects for 2 guys who will stay on this team for multiple years and who are proven performers (Elite performers in Hanley's case) is building for the future. Because, after all, prospects are just that, prospects.

    I'm starting to think Ellsbury won't live up to the press clipping so here's my idea. Ellsbury + (3 high level and 1 mid level prospect) to Florida for Hanley Anderson + ( 3 high level and 1 mid level prospect) to San Diego for Gonzales. Sign Figgins to play CF Sign Holliday Sign Lackey Release V-Tek. Trade Lowell even for a bag of potato chips. Lineup: Pedey (Yeah man the f*** up we need OBP from the 1-spot) Drew Youk Gonzales Ramirez Martinez Bay/Holliday Papi (Yeah you suck now) Figgins Rotation: Becks Lester Lackey Dice-K Bucholz/Tazawa It would take balls to have an off-season like this. Cashman would pull it off, and we could re-stock the farm quickly.

    We need a SS who's not an auto-put. Wilson is an auto-out. I agree on Sheff. But Huff's line this year is horrible, and he's a very inconsistent hitter.

    I only wish Theo had some balls and pulled off a couple trades this offseason to turn this team into a no-doubt juggernaut. We'll have the pitching, needing only a starter which we could get for just money. We can make Martinez the full time C to stop the offensive SUCK. Set in the OF. Need a SS who can hit, and a middle-of-the-order CIF.

    A lot of moves need to be made this off-season to fix the mess this offense has become. Pitching and defense are the most important part of the game, but a consistent offense can bail you out of a lot of jams.
