1 million signing bonus, 1.5 million buyout. It's a guaranteed 12.5 million for 2 years with a 6 million option for the team and 3 million option for the player. Scutaro was looking for a 3-year, 18 mill deal, and if the team picks up his option, it's essentially a 3-year, 17 mill deal.

Monster =/= Elite. Keep things into the context they were said. If a player that's top 10 amongst OF's in 2008 and top 5 in 2009 isn't putting up monster numbers, then i don't know what to tell you. No. This is cherry picked. 117 games =/= starting position player time. Face it, he exploded offensively for the first time as a regular at age 34, and it's highly doubtful he'll keep it up. As i said before, i hope to God he makes me eat crow, but the realist in me knows it's likely not going to happen.

Again, i was pining for them on one-year deals, considering neither of them would be worth a draft pick. On a related note, how am i embarrassing myself? Tejada's 2009 season was, defensively, an aberration, if you check his 2008 stats you'll see he was actually really good, you just can't lose so much defensively from one season to the other.

I'm pining for Tejada and Cabrera on one-year deals. And i'm going to stick to my "this was just a career year" all the way until the contract expires. I'm going to be the first one busting your chops come August when Scutaro is f***ing sucking and you're jumping off the bandwagon.
