BOS Josh Beckett, RHP (1-0, 6.31)
The ace recovered nicely from a two-start slump by allowing just six hits and two runs over seven innings against the Orioles in his last outing. Beckett took a no-decision in a game the Red Sox lost in 10 innings. This is the first time Beckett has faced the Yankees since Opening Night, when he gave up eight hits and five runs over 4 2/3 innings. The Red Sox won that game, 9-7, but Beckett didn't factor in the decision. Beckett has had mixed results against the Yankees in his career, going 9-5 with a 5.51 ERA. The righty has made 65 career starts at Fenway, going 31-17 with a 4.53 ERA. Opponents are hitting .303 against him this season.

NYY Phil Hughes, RHP (3-0, 1.44)
Hughes draws the nod as the Yankees begin their second trip to Fenway Park this season, getting the ball for his fifth start of the campaign. The Yankees bypassed struggling Javier Vazquez in part because of their trust in Hughes, who hurled seven innings of scoreless four-hit ball against the White Sox in his last start on Saturday. A Red Sox fan growing up in California, Hughes is 0-2 with a 7.62 ERA in eight career games vs. Boston, including two starts. His last start against the Red Sox came on May 4, 2009, in New York, when Boston hit him for three earned runs in a four-inning losing decision.
WIN!!!!
