When i said someone shouldn't jump to his defense, i meant on the forum, as denoted by the "You surprised me there", because unlike Jeter, we ain't his teammates. A lot of teammates over the years have defended douchebag actions from their teammates, that doesn't make it right, but if they're going to, the least they can do is do it like Jeter did.
