  1. You going off something with that or is that just YHO?
  2. Gonna hurt to lose Reddick. We'd better sign Bay or that could really bite us in the butt. It's a price worth paying but Reddick's a key part of our future to be going for a rental of Cliff Lee.
  3. At least we have a minimum of those REALLY REALLY stupid trade proposals you sometimes see on a few forums. I think the worst one we've had this year is Drew for Magglio Ordonez straight up.

  5. Which of course was BSN07's point.
  6. Hey if you can't respond to me without "thinking those dirty thoughts" that's hardly my fault.
  7. I have no friggin' idea who's on the clock. It should and could be me but I want to wait for confirmation.
  8. That's what I'm here for.
  9. And another sex act reference from Dipre. Dude, I hate to disappoint you, but I'm straight as an arrow.
  10. That difference is mostly in the eye of the beholder. If those guys had no value at all, we wouldn't be paying their salaries.
  11. "Dojji type guys." Cute. I guess I can deal with the term. I'll admit that my "thing" is looking for hidden value and you don't find that on top 10 lists. It can be the difference between contending and not though. Personally I think Glovey McNoodlebats tend to get grossly overrated, I'd rather have a guy who can thrive on both sides of the ball. It's NOT that hard to find one. Maybe we pick up Michael Young's contract and give up a couple "Dojji Types" for him. Texas is contending, but they're not in line for a playoff spot and they're also hurting for money so it's not beyond possibility.
  12. Not the first time Boston has taken it by the horns when a player has gone to the media to air their grievances. I have yet to see a relationship between team and player really be salvaged once it's hit this point. I mean they can "stay together for the sake of the kids" or something for a few years (see: Ramirez, Manny) but generally it pretty much means the guy is gone sooner rather than later. Personally I think Daisuke gets a chance to come back in September and earn himself some trade value and get back in our good graces but he's pretty much counting down the time until he leaves.
  13. Not only has Anderson never played 3B in his life, he THROWS LEFTY.
  14. I honestly am not really concernned. I think we're in the upper echelon of conteneders right now despite our recent slump, and I'm concerned about a major deadline gag(ne) interfering with that.
  15. I've known some pretty stupid doctors. One of them misdiagnosed a freakin' CANCER when it was growing out of my mother's skull in a clearly visible, unsightly lump.
  16. Nice gamble. Anderson has never turned his tools to success at the big league level but he was one of Chicago's best prospects a couple years ago. He's worth a flier if the price is right and if he can ever learn to hit the ball at the big league level he could be an exciting player.
  17. Yep, the Japanese major leagues are called NPB.
  18. Considering he was never an NPB pitcher I imagine he has little problem with it.
  19. A better test is if he can win in front of the fail salad we have in AAA.
  20. Put it this way. The kind of guys we'd get for Daisuke are more the types I'd be interested in than anyone that would excite you, at least for now. Young A-ballers with unrealized potential or higher players who are a bit old but with solid skillsets.
  21. Well, that's not surprising. There have been hints that Daisuke has been resisting doing things our way. One would think that the fact that he's the one pitcher resisting our shoulder regimen, and the one pitcher with serious shoulder problems over the last 2 years, would have rung a bell by now. I mean they got Brad Penny capturing his peak velocity which he hasn't seen in years with that system. Maybe if daisuke finally buys in, he gets his 94 MPH fastball he came across the Pacific with back.
  22. Why would the Guardians do that?
  23. Wasn't there a point when Randy Johnson was in NY that they had him pitching from the stretch for most of the season? Or is that unrelated?
