  1. Then you're in the minority around here.
  2. Come on, that's just immature.
  3. There wasn't a single pitch in that at bat that was in the strike zone.
  4. I would love to have James Shields on this team.
  5. Simple. Valentine was trying to get back into the game. And if it works. he looks brilliant, which is a benefit to him.
  6. Outside corner at the knees. Gotta protect the plate, Sweeney.
  7. Thank goodness. Damage minimized.
  8. An inexperienced starter? Francona would never have let him come out for the 7th.
  9. Valentine has officially lost me. He managed us out of this game.
  10. For pity's sake V, Bard should have been out of there 3 batters ago.
  11. Shoulda pulled him there.
  12. My impression is that so far, Aviles has been an adequate defensive shortstop. Need more time to be sure, obviously, but I thought he's had adequate range and the hands and arm are no worse than Scutaro's. I'd still love to have that real defensive wizard at short, especially with some unprovens in the rotation, but I can't hate Mike Aviles and what he's done there so far.
  13. True. Pity.
  14. IF we actually had three major league outfielders right now, I'd agree. We seem to have 2 bench players and a DH though. Lin ought to be able to compete with that.
  15. The Sox brass just utterly trolled us didn't they?
  16. Depends on which he can stand less, Ross's or Sweeney's defense in center or Lin's bat
  17. not offensively, anyway.
  18. Callup confirmed, welcome to the big club. Here's hoping you prove a lot of people wrong.
  19. The only thing that makes me nervous is that now his recovery is in the hands of the Red Sox medical staff.
  20. ... and a great deal less consistent as an actual pitcher.
  21. Holy crap, that was a 150 foot strike, room service! You just don't see that very often.
  22. Lin is Jose Iglesias, centerfield edition. But he's a really freaking good defender, tons of wheels and defensive talent and an Ichiro-like arm.
