It wasn’t just one tweet. The dude has non stopped liked and promoted racism and other s*** on his Twitter profile and there is the fact he f***ing sucks at baseball. It’s not like they signed some talented pitcher with baggage to help the team. They signed a racist homophobic dude who is 32, with no upside and has a negative WAR in his career. Dude has no place in baseball, both due to his on the field skills, and his off the field opinions. He trended on twitter all night and had to make his account private for a little bit because he got flooded by people tweeting him things like “if you hate gays so much, why did you let Jose Ramírez f*** you in the ass during pride month?” And the fact they took the backlash, knew his history, and then used him for one game, which was essentially a forfeit is just absurd.

Hell of a decision to sign a 32 year old bum pitcher in Matt Dermony who is trending on Twitter for all his anti gay tweets and for liking and supporting multiple racist tweets. Awesome. Glad that guy was willingly signed and let start in the MLB

I feel like there had to of been a better option than starting some 32 year old career bum who had 1 appearance since 2020, and who’s most notably known for homophobic and borderline racist tweets, and anti transgender tweets. Like really? This is what we’re doing now? Cora had to defend this guy before the game because of his tweets and then they DFA him anyway. Just a stupid, questionable move that does absolutely nothing to help the team. They should have just forfeited if the plan was starting this guy and using Kluber as first guy out of the pen.

With the way the pitchers were used tonight, if he said he tried to intentionally lose this game, I’d believe him.

Paxton has been very impressive, obviously the biggest thing with him is keeping him healthy, but when he’s been healthy, he’s looked like our best starter. -
I honestly really don’t remember many people if any who wanted or thought Degrom was a legit possibility. It’s sucks for him, but the guy cannot stay healthy and it was pretty predictable that whoever signed him, would likely regret it.

Duvall has also played 260 innings at 1B in his MLB career. He’s actually pretty versatile player. Which could lead to some platoon advantages.
