Worst case scenario for Rays, they can just keep him on the restricted list, like Felipe Vázquez is on. If he actually is a pedophile, he won’t ever see the money and he’ll never touch an MLB field again.

I don’t recall a case of a guy being a pedophile after signing signing a long term contract, so I’m not sure there is a precedent for that

Rays just signed Franco to an 11 wear contract less than two years ago too, yikes.

Well yeah, that story was horrible. It’s usually not a good sign if the MLB, the team he’s on and the player all agree he should be on an unpaid restricted list. According to MLB network, the last time this happened with a player accused of sexual assault, it was Felipe Vázquez and he was a convicted pedophile, not someone you want to share something with.

I could definitely see that. Both struggled in the field but were very good at making contact and had good eyes.

My biggest worry about Yoshida is honestly defense. He’s already proven to he pretty bad. I think his swing/hitting style is sustainable. He’s definitely a professional hitter and has a good eye.

I think a lot of Japanese players have similar swings/play styles, so maybe it’s that. A big difference between Ichiro and Yoshida is that Ichiro had elite speed. Ichiro could chop the ball all over the infield and run it out and was a game changer on the base paths. Yoshida just doesn’t have that gear/ability. So while Yoshida has Ichiro like approach at times, with all the choppers and the way he sprays the ball, he just doesn’t have the same ability.

Except Ichiro was good defensively when he came over, a speed demon and literally an MVP. Yoshida isn’t even remotely close to Ichiro. Ichiro was one of best hitters the game has ever seen

The worst part is the he customer service. A guy on the phone told me there is no record of blacking out the New York teams. I showed picture proof of Yankees and Mets game being blacked out on a Sunday due to my location and he told me that’s not true and did nothing. Like thanks. I’m in Maryland and now have to find alternatives to watch the Red Sox play the Yankees…

I use MLB TV also, but I’m extremely annoyed by it this season. I get blacked out for Orioles and Nationals on any device, but for some reason I’m also getting blacked out of Yankees and Mets games when I try watching on my Xbox or smart TV. So I can’t watching Orioles/Nats at all and can only watch Yankees/Mets on my phone/laptop. I also don’t get the Apple TV Friday night game and apparently don’t get whatever the Peacock game of the week is on Sundays and according to google my only option to watch the game is either pay $5 for a month of peacock or illegally stream the game.

Lamet had a good stretch during the fluke 2020 season, he has been pretty bad the rest of his career and was legitimately one of worst pitchers in baseball when he got released by colorado. He sucks. He’ll likely be gone Friday when Sale is back
