    Trout is the best player in baseball, and I don't think many people will debate that. However, the best player doesn't always win MVP (Lebron should win MVP every year in the NBA). Team record will be considered by voters, it shouldn't really be a factor, because if you swap Mookie and Trout on Angels and Sox, both teams would stay about the same, but it will be, and it will hurt Trout.

    Yeah, that was lame. They literally waited till the ceremony was completely over to show the broadcast. At least, most of it was posted on twitter.

    Red Sox reportedly had the opportunity to rescind the trade with the Padres for Pomeranz and declined to do so.. Hmm..

    I agree with that, but Its also tough to determine the difference between more value and better player, the Sox are an all around better team than say the Astros and Mariners, but does that mean Pedroia was really more "valuable" than Robinson Cano who has a phenomenal season and was the main reason Mariners hung around and almost made playoffs? If I was voting MVP, my top 5 would be Trout Betts Altuve Ortiz Donaldson I would have Cano 6th. However, as some mentioned, I think Trout will get the Lebron James effect, where the voters are tiring of voting for him, and one of those other guys, most likely Betts will win.

    Pedroia has had a great year, but he hasn't even been the best at his position in the AL this year. I love the guy but Cano and Altuve have had better seasons at the same position.
