    This is Clay's last start before the deadline. If the front office is stupid, this could possibly be Clay's last start with the Sox (i.e. trading Buchholz would be retarded, unless for Halladay).

    Is there any guarantee that Wakefield's back? I know he's doing well this season and all, but he will be 43 at the start of next year. That's old for any kind of pitcher. Not saying he will or won't hang it up, but I don't like to bank on 43 year olds returning for future seasons.

    You say versatile, I say crowded. Also, V-Mart isn't exactly Albert Pujols. When our offensive players aren't in a common slump, Martinez is 5th or 6th best hitter in the lineup. He's basically a band-aid. Again, not worth a shipment of prospects to Mark Shapiro's doorstep. Brad Penny? His only bad start in recent memory has been the Toronto game. Lee's a nice pitcher, but I'm content with Beckett/Lester/Wakefield/Penny/Buchholz. lol rly? Why is that?

    I think Theo is smarter than to trade Buchholz for Cliff Lee (since V-Mart is a shaky catcher and would become our 5th CIF). Cannot WAIT for the deadline to pass so every single one of these idiotic ideas can be put to rest.

    I personally don't really care about this, but this kind of move would really take the teeth out of future sanctions/bans. For that reason, I think the ban should be upheld.
