Nate trade is pointless. I couldn't be less neutral on it. Why not try to trade for someone who will fix this whole 28th-in-the-NBA-in-rebounding thing? Good luck being that bad on the boards and going anywhere in the playoffs.
The Knicks are setting themselves up for one epic, hilarious clusterf*** of a letdown. This year's pick is going to Utah. Their next two picks are now probably going to Houston, with 2011 only being top-1 protected, 2012 top-5 protected. They won't get LeBron, Wade, or Amare. If Bosh leaves Toronto, I don't know if the Knicks are even in his top 10. Joe Johnson is the guy they have the best chance of getting, but is that really a lock? Does Atlanta, who is finally starting to look serious, really want to let Johnson and set themselves back? It's pretty much Atlanta's call, now matter how much cap room the Knicks have. If they get none of those guys, they are stuck with David Lee, Eddy Curry, Toney Douglas, and about 10 barely relevant FA signees to be, with their 2010, 2011, and likely 2012 draft picks all committed to other teams (but they'll have Houston's mid-20s 2011 pick!!1!). f***, Knicks fans will probably be jumping on the Nets bandwagon.
If Houston could guarantee health (and they can't), they'd win the 2011 championship. So all we can do is think of them as a 'maybe' with lots of potential, just like at least half of last decade's Rockets teams.
