  1. Sometimes I get the feeling that Manny is screwing off at the plate. What's with the check swings on the fast balls down the center?

  3. When I guy starts off a season with a lot of errors or a crappy BA, I do feel bad for him because I know that he wants to be doing well. Who doesn't, right? My sympathy ends at the point where he gets upset because the media asks questions about him sucking. Serve up some humble pie, Julio. You do make a crap load of money and you shouldn't have 10 errors. Of course the reporters are going to bug you about it. We're out here reading their s***, day after day and we want them to ask you about it!. When I'm watching that error in last night's game I'm thinking "What a dick!" and I want to know what you have to say for yourself. Not that you'll shed any real light on anything that really matters, but dealing with the press is the price you pay for blowing a game. We (at least I) stand behind the players on our favorite team. But when you're lousy you're lousy and copping attitude isn't the way to go.
  4. Baseball Tonight's Buster Olney (talking over the highlight of Manny's throw home) just said that Manny plays the green monster, quote "...better than anyone ever has..." When reminded about Yaz, Olney said, "Yes. As good as Yaz."
  5. I suppose that is obvious now, huh? They've gotten as many hits in the last 15 innings as they had in the previous 50 or so.
  6. NESN Seems to have that all the time now. I like it, for the very reason that you can really see the pitches. Those guys on Baseball Tonight are always making comments. One of them said it makes hime feel "100 miles away," which makes no freakin' sense to me.
  7. OK. I'm still a little hurt that my recent thread (LINK) got only two replies, but... It certainly appears the point is moot, anyway. The offense has returned.
  8. Hey, can one of you guys up there in New England give NESN a call and ask them to wipe off the lens on that camera behind home plate?
  9. After spending much of April with a very healthy RISP (one of three teams over .300) the Sox have done little in that way over the last three series. Since April 22 against the Angels, the Sox have left 68 men on base! That number is a little more telling when we consider that since the 26th, they have gotten 24 hits in 5 games. They are 2 lucky bottom of the ninth finishes away from being on an 8 game skid. What is up? What needs to be done? How soon can we expect things to clear up?
  10. Paps in the ninth to hold the tie Great play by Peds to end inning Papi on first with Timlin warming Strangely familiar?
  11. Screw Obama and Hillary! Pedroia for Prez!
  12. Our pitchers have lost some tough ones this week, too. Great game, even though I only got to see that last two innings.
  13. I had read that Beckett had the flu, too. Perhaps the neck thing is from tossing his cookies all day. Or, perhaps, it's just cooler to miss a start with a stiff neck than saying you have the trots? Can you imagine s***ing your home whites while on the mound?
  14. If your loyalty is to your team and not your fantasy team, and your going to root for Pedroia to suck, wouldn't it make more sense to not put him on your fantasy team?
  15. Hey, thanks to all who answered my rules question. I think I knew that somewhere in my head...just a brain fart, I suppose. Goodnight all!
  16. So here's a rules question: Since Paps gave up a run and now the lead is three, assuming the third out soon here, does he qualify for a save?
  17. As great a fastball as Paps has, I think he should throw something else every so often.
  18. 4 pitches and Giambi K's... Sit down, ya sweaty prick!
