    Cora does well as a fill in. I wouldn't want a situation where he's the main guy at either 2nd or 3rd, but I never freak out when he's in the line-up.

    I don't know if someone posted this already, but here it is... I'm listening to the banter on the Toronto TV feed about how this is Bay's first as a big leager playing a game in Canada. According to baseball-reference.com, it isn't. It seems as though it is at least his 4th. July 9, 10, & 11, 2004 - They show him as playing in games two, three, and four of a series when the Pirates visited the Expos. Here's the link for the first of those games: http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/MON/MON200407090.shtml He went 4 for 5 with 4 runs scored and a home run. I also saw an article somewhere on BostonHerald.com about tonight being his first. Am I missing something? Is is possible that no one looked this up?

    I have to agree (as much as it pains me to do so) with jm, here. Whatever you sign CC. for you have to match or more likely exceed when you negotiate with Beckett. So, unless the Sox are prepared to have $90 million teid up in two starters ove the next 4 - 5 years, I think you stay out of serious talk about Sabathia. Maybey sheets, too. As much as I'd enjoy seeing Millar or Loretta back in Boston, it would only be for sentimental reasons...the novelty of it. If you took the names away and went by career and recent numbers, I don't think picking them up really makes sense.

I was in Baltimore for that Wednesday night debacle...I could use a win tonight. Though I truly understand why they sell shirts down there that say "Camden Yards: Fenway Park South" on 'em. About 60% Sox fans there that night.

    I have a really pissy attitude where manny is concerned. I woke up this morning to Sports Center showing his stealing a base! He was in position to do so only because he legged out a close play at first. I see him giggling like a school girl with the press (Hell, he didn't even smile in front of reporters after hitting the game winner in the ALDS last fall!) and talking about how he would steal a base. Ad to that the BA and RBIs since getting to LA...? No one has any illusions about him intentionally sucking in Boston to get traded, but evident depth of his lie makes me want to puke. What an ass-pipe!
