Coco Crisp sucks - a season full of coco the monkey? Jones is off the market - we will probably have to go for Rowand or something... Edit - I am shocked some of the love Coco gets - dude could not even get a bunt down in the playoffs. We might as well put up a 8 man line-up. The only way he helps the offense is by pinch running. He is not a base stealing threat - because he will never get on base.

May be from Yankee point of view - I still think it must be either Lester or Ellsbury. I can see Lester being packaged with Ellsbury and all the other kids - but twins should include Mauer or Nathan also.

Heard this morning from Buster Olney in M&M while driving to train station. "Johan Santana trade between the Red Sox and the Twins will happen. They have talked throught out the weekend. Twins have looked into the Lester vs Ellsbury package and they are leaning towards the later. There needs to be talks regarding setting up the rest of the package and deciding on the minor leagers"

Let's say ( God forbid) Santana trade works out like A-Rod trade in 2003. We make lot of noise - ultimately the Yankees get him. In that case - I feel OK with our rotation as well as the bullpen. We could use another big bat in the line-up but that's not gonna happen. The two positions I am not happy about is back-up catcher and the bench. Last year - our platoon of Hinske, Cora and WMP was probably one of the worst in the league. This year - how about we go with Carter, Lowrie and Crisp instead( I know Crisp is not happy with his situation). If Lowrie can play 2B and SS from bench - I will dump Cora's ass somewhere else if possible. Anyone agrees/disagrees? Edit - Brandon Moss should be in the mix - and I don't mind Kielty either as a pinch hitter mostly against lefties.

Matsui has a full no trade clause - I would be surprised if he waved that to play for the Giants.

Earlier I gave the analogy of the Dye trade on last year's deadline but this one just carried on for too long for nothing - it will be interesting if the twins can extend him now.
