  1. Just got a chance to read through all this but good stuff Kilo. I had several of the same upset picks. Final Four: Kansas, Syracuse, West Virginia, Duke I have Kansas over West Virginia in the title game. I also don't necessarily think Duke is that much better than any of their teams they've had the last several years, but they got a really favorable bracket and I have them barely edging Baylor in the Elite Eight. My first round upsets: SDSU over Tennessee UTEP over Butler (UTEP to the Sweet 16) Siena over Purdue (tough call) Cornell over Temple (I hate these two have to face each other) I have a few other lower seeds winning but nothing that wouldn't surprise anybody.
  2. God bless you yeszir. And God bless the Red Sox.
  3. This is why our fan base was borderline psychotic yesterday being that we were screwed over so bad. I'm still pissed off, although obviously it's over and done with. The NCAA can go to hell.
  4. Reason I've brought up the 2 heartbreakers against Kentucky is that I think they should be looked at in that we can play with the best in the nation. If Utah State played Kentucky they would get that ass stomped. (I feel we would run them too) I know we lost and that doesn't really do anything for us, but losing by 1 in OT is a lot more respectable than losing by 30+ and if the committee isn't considering those factors, I think they're wrong. That's just my opinion though.
  5. Mason already re-signed with Baltimore.
  6. I totally agree we should have (and need to in the future) played a better non-con schedule. However, normally UCLA doesn't resemble a team you can throw together at the YMCA either. That was a bad break catching them on a really down year as we beat them by 20+ at their place. Still, does the SEC tournament mean nothing? Apparently it does to the committee. They acted like what we did the last 3 days didn't even happen. We beat Florida, handled Vandy (a 4 seed), and were 0.1 seconds away from beating Kentucky. In fact, we should've beaten UK twice this year if not for some classic SEC officiating. Anyway, when it comes down to the last 5-6 bubble teams, I think just watching them play should tell you something, the "eye test" as the analysts say. Would you rather play Florida, Utah State, and Minnesota over Mississippi State in the NCAAT? I sure would think so given how well we played during the SECT.
  7. Funds come in yet, SFoC? I mailed them last Monday.
  8. Purdue is still a good team, but nothing close to what they were with Hummel. I'm not even sure they're going to get out of the first round.
  9. Agreed. I don't like that Minnesota got in after getting their doors blown off like that, and Illinois (who I think was better than Minnesota anyway) stays at home. Meanwhile we lose by ONE in OT against the #2 team in the nation and are sitting at home as well. The selection committee sucked ass this year. The past several years I thought they had done a fairly solid job, but they really jacked this one up in more ways than one (seeding).
  10. I haven't really looked at the bracket much yet either. Probably will tomorrow.
  11. The SEC happens to have a s***** commissioner who pimps his favorite teams and leaves the rest in the dark. Not that it matters now, but I still think it's a disgrace that Florida got in (same with Utah State) and Mississippi State got left out. We are two screwjobs away from beating Kentucky. Only needed one to get us in. Sigh.
  12. Then how can you justify teams like Florida and Utah State getting in over us? The NCAA is a joke. Did you watch the SEC tournament? Our play over the last 3 days alone should've shown people we deserved a spot. I saw this s*** coming a mile away, but still, it hurts. Florida getting in over State is laughable though. Awful, awful, awful job by the selection committee.
  13. We took yall to OT twice, barely coming up short both times. Unfortunately it doesn't matter what any of us know is right. The NCAA thinks otherwise. Mississippi State has already headed home. They aren't even bothering sticking around for the selection show as they pretty much know the NCAA is going to ream them.
  14. I think I'm just going to go to sleep and maybe skip the selection show. I really don't care anymore.
  15. Makes it a little tougher to rebound when John Wall is committing a lane violation and it's not called. So typical.
  16. Zach, we aren't in good with the NCAA. Never have been, never will be. As a Mississippi State fan you always assume the worst when it comes to dealing with the NCAA. Today is no different. It doesn't take a genius to tell that we have a very solid basketball team. A non-sports fan could've watched the games this weekend and known that. You have to be kidding me that teams like Virginia Tech, Utah State, and Illinois are going to likely get in ahead of us. It's unbelievable. I haven't been this pissed about something sports related in ages.
  17. We aren't going anywhere. The NCAA is keeping us at home and that's ********. Absolute ********. Doug Gottlieb was just on ESPN talking about John Wall's lane violation and how Mississippi State was robbed by the officials for the second time this season against Kentucky. What do you really expect though? I've sadly grown accustomed to being screwed out of wins in the SEC year in and year out. The officiating wasn't nearly as bad as last game, but they missed some critical calls. How about Jarvis Varnado being literally THROWN/DRAGGED TO THE GROUND IN FRONT OF THE OFFICIAL and no call? I... don't even know what to say. Great game but a s***** ending, albeit a typical one.
  18. Just... Really, there are no words. Everything that could've possibly gone wrong with bid stealers this week has. New Mexico State just upset Utah State. I'm so bummed. I know we're still alive, but beating Kentucky is probably too much to ask. The NCAA can pre-DIAF due to how they're going to screw us over tomorrow.
  19. A girl I know is there. She set out for Dallas this morning. I have no doubt that Pac-Man will win.
  20. Watson at $4M a year is not a good deal
  21. He is still pretty skinny and needs to bulk up for the next level. That, and develop a better jumpshot. Still, he is a defensive force and someone will grab him based on his D alone.
  22. I actually really enjoy listening to Bobby Knight. He's one of the better analysts out there today.
