    Gonna be a tough one being on the road facing one of the best SP's in the game. Hopefully Buchholz is up for the task because I suspect Lackey will be. With that said, go Sox.

    Great trade for the A's. They may sound like no names right now, but those 3 prospects they got will pay off eventually. Meanwhile Philly desperately needed some help in the rotation and while Blanton isn't great, he can help them out. He's always pitched well against the Mets so that's another reason they wanted him. I would definitely think there could be better alternatives out there though. 3 solid prospects was a lot to have to give up.

    For once, I don't think the Rangers are sellers. They've got a pretty decent team this year. Nothing outstanding, but they are 4 games over .500 and are competitive. If anything they might try to add some pitching help which they always need, but most likely I think they stand pat.

    Agreed. Good call. Teixeira is definitely tempting, but I don't want to just rent him for 3 months. Plus, Youk is having an amazing year. If Atlanta is smart they will find a way to unload him though. There's no way he's re-signing there.

    A little off topic, but who in their right mind thought the Rockies and Mets would be a good choice for Sunday Night Baseball?!? New York pounding them 4-0 early. Would've been nice to see a competitive game.

    Starting pitcher: Jon Lester Position player: JD Drew Reliever: Jon Papelbon Bench player: Sean Casey Favorite game: 7/8 vs Minnesota. My first game at Fenway and getting to see the Sox put a 4 spot on the Twins in the 8th inning to cap an awesome comeback win 6-5.
