  1. I dont think that him being the closer wont be too bad because he's was a great pitcher and he has potential to become a great pitcher again. His Splits show that in his first 30 pitches, he is solid. In 1090 AB's, hes only given up 111 runs which is about 1 run per 10 ABs, which comes out to be about an 3.50 ERA, which is decent for a closer. Dont forget that he has to pace himself when he starts, so when he closes he will be throwing all out. I dont think he will be the best, but i think he'll do okay if he is given the job
  2. know whats really funny, every year in my MLB game for ps2 i always get some players on my team and soon later find out that they really are on the red sox. last year it was coco, now this year it could be pineiro
  3. seems like the dodgers are doing a good job on one-side of the ball this offseason. id say theyre #3 on best offseason
  4. id be fine with wily mo, id like to see him play for a bit... and if it doesnt work out, there would always be the possiblities of a trade at the end of the deadline... adam dunn is a potential FA in 08, so is Rowand and Milton Bradley.... i say if dont finalize jd drew, we should stick w/ wily mo and go from there
  5. i dont see murphy as someone who can help the sox win a world series, i more see him as a guy filling in when we have no chance. id say trade him. we have too may others ahead of him in line anyway [pena, ellsbury]
  6. pedrioa sucks???? do you have any idea what you are talking about?
  7. if we get lidge, im pretty sure ill blow a load in my pants
  8. i cannot wait for next season to start.. i swear.. i hope we make no mistakes, we have 6 SP [pap, beck, schill, dice-k, wake, lester] and illl be pissed if we trade anyone one of them away [shades of last year]
  9. The difference btwn the sox and yanks are that the sox sign young players that are ready to hit their peek, the yanks are famous for signing talent that is declining in talent [johnson, damon].
  10. looks like another manny being manny season
  11. now will his health help us leverage a deal with Matsuzaka???
  12. I just want someone to protect ortiz's bat and ill be happy.... Sexton or Beltre would make me happy
  13. Id love to see Bill Hall play for the sox. A good cushin in the lower end of the lineup. but sox fans can only dream.....
  14. I hope hes not a dissapointment cause of the change of scenery, thats the only thing i dont like about japanesse pitchers
  15. you cant usethe statistics of ppl that epstein let go to create a valid point, especially about pitchers who went to the NL. The NL is much easier to pitch in than the AL, we all know that. So we all know that Arroyo wouldnt have done the same with the Sox as he did with the Reds. Cla Meredith did better on a less pressured ball club, and also he was pitching in the NL. As far as Im concerned, Epstein is able to win a World Series, so i say I like him!!!
  16. i hope they give him a shot at playing this year. I hope he does well, if not ,than its back to the drawing board.... but yet it could be too late
  17. what are the chances of lester returning in 07 and making an impact? i think he would be solid as a releiver towards the end of the year. lets just hope he beats cancer
