  1. We should be talking about Lester's dominant performance, the fact that Papelbon has now had 2 straight clean saves, and that McDonald scored one of the runs today and drove in the other.
  2. This is what I was expecting going into this year. If Beckett and Lackey can now figure it out we should be more than fine, even if Dice-K is still just a 5-6 inning pitcher. What a great game!
  3. If Papi doesn't start hitting soon he might even lose his platoon against RHP.
  4. IDK, I still think Wakefield has better stuff and upside. Knuckelball pitcher with a 70mph FB who has amazing command and he's only 43 years old!
  5. If he were to hit FA, the sky is the limit. Personally, if A-Gon, Pujols, or Fielder do hit FA, I think we HAVE to sign one of them, no matter the cost. We need that big bat desperately. I think there is a good chance Pujols and Fielder resign, although Pujols might want more money than St. Louis can offer. I think A-Gon is extremely likely to hit FA, SD doesn't have the money to sign him.
  6. Pujols has the 4th highest career SLG and OPS in history. So no, his power numbers are NOT lower. Yes, he doesn't hit as many HRs or drive in as many runs, but he makes up for it in more doubles and far far less strikeouts. Pujols is in a league of his own. Just look at his contact hitting. He has a HIGHER career BA than Ichiro! and less career strikeouts than Irchiro! For someone who's 4th all time in SLG and OPS to hit for contact better and strike out less than a sure HOF contact hitter is ridiculous. Pujols walk to strikeout ratio is 1.4:1. That's almost Babe Ruth territory there. Howard's is 0.46:1. Finally, consider how "clutch" Pujols is. His career line with RISP is 0.345 BA, 0.483 OBP, 0.675 SLG, 1.158 OPS. No one can touch him in the clutch. No one. As for the RBI totals, you only have too look at who hits in front of Pujols compared to Howard.
  7. Finally over, now I can go study up on the Pats draft.
  8. WIN! UGLY, but at least the offense showed up.
  9. Filthy pitch. If Bard can just keep working on his command and minimize his mistakes, he could become down right nasty. OK Paps, step up.
  10. Alright, one more out, and Paps better have his s*** together. Last thing I want to see is Paps working through a jam.
  11. WTF is wrong with Okajima. He's looked like crap recently. Bard has to be money here.
  12. I have to say, apart from the 2-run shot to Burrell, MDC has looked pretty good so far this season.
  13. Can we PLEASE get rid of Atchison and Schoenwise. My dead Grandma can pitch better than them.
  14. OH Great, Schoensuck again. This lead might not last very long...
  15. Wow, some of you guys are brutal. lol.
  16. So what happened with Beckett, did he just not have anything tonight?
  17. Just got home and McDONALDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WTF happened this game. Holy crap.
  18. This team has yet to win a single game "decidedly". I'm starting to get nervous. Also, Tito is continue to look like a moron with in game management and it's getting me even more nervous.
  19. OMG, his post-game press conference pissed me off even MORE. HOLY CRAP YOU PIECE OF s***. So the reporters obviously ask him why he decided to go to Atchison and Schoensuck rather than starting the inning with Delcarmin and he COMPLETELY avoids the question. "Well, we had Atichson ready and Schoensuck right behind him so it was a matter of who was ready to go. I thought Schoensuck could throw strikes and we didn't anticipate the inning would turn out as it did." YOU MOTHER f***ER. OWN UP TO YOUR DECISION. We KNOW Atchison and Schoensuck warmed before MDC... IT WAS YOUR DECISION TO GO TO THEM FIRST. Don't just say "Oh they were ready." f***ing own it. Also, shame on the reports for not having integrity and calling him out on it. When will journalists grow some balls again and look for the truth. If I was in that room I would have called him out immediately "You didn't answer our question. YOU are the one who called the pen to start warming Atchison and Schoenwise before MDC. We want to know WHY you made that decision. Please don't beat around the bush again." I have a VERY low tolerance of ********.
