Wow you guys are insane about walks. I think most people just prefer guys who get more hits. A hit with the bases load > than a walk, by a long shot. But yes, walks are good. I think the key is just taking what the pitcher gives you. If he doesn't give you anything to hit, work the count and try to get a walk or a mistake. If he gives you a good pitch to hit, don't take it looking for a walk, crush it. I personally don't like the red-light on a 3-0 count for anyone who can hit. Chances are they are going to get a good pitch to hit... so hit it.

This is an important season for Papelbon, if he continues giving up more walks and hits, it will be worrisome, especially if he starts giving up runs and blowing saves. However, I'm not worried RIGHT NOW. I'm not going to be worried until the wheels actually begin to fall off, right now their barely even shaking.

And that 1.2 WHIP is higher than last year, thus the trend. I'm saying if the trend continues but he still saves 35+ and blows few games I'd be perfectly satisfied. How do you not understand that.

His WHIP is 1.2 right now and his K/BB is right around 2.5, I was referring to him finishing THIS season with that line... Try again... edit: 1.2 K/BB right now, but I highly doubt he goes under 2.5 for the season.

I'd be perfectly happy with a 1.2 WHIP and 2.5 K/BB if it comes with an ERA under 2.00 and 35+ saves.

OFFENSE! Hey look, the "Bush leager who doesn't belong at this level" just got another RBI double. Eat it.

Aybar tried to purposely drop an infield fly to turn a double/triple. He made it painfully obvious and was almost laughing while trying to "sell" it to the umpires and team mates. It looked like something you might see in a neighborhood game.

BUSH LEAGUE. A good old GFY for you Aybar. I just don't understand why he would try that, he shouldn't know there's no way an Ump would screw up that bad, you only make yourself look like an idiot cheating tool. 20 years from now someone will mention Aybar and the first thing that will come to mind is this play.

Since when has anyone formed an argument only from save percentage. I including save percentage in one of my posts and you run off the face of the Earth with it. You are the one hung up on it, no one else. Again, you are reaching to make an argument where there is none.

I think for Dice-K's next home start they should give every fan a free baseball to throw at him when he takes the mound. Now THAT might be worth watching. Heck, they could make it a contest. The first fan to hit Dice-K in the head gets to take his spot in the rotation for a day.
