  1. Pass on Jackson at 4-5 yeas. Boras is going to be Sainted soon with all the miracles he pulls off.
  2. Ya I don't think Laroche will hit well at fenway long term and is probably not a 30 HR threat there either.
  3. I'm not interested in Laroche on a long term deal. If the Napoli deal falls through let someone from in house go for the spot. Gomes, Sands, Middlebrooks,(Iggy to SS and Drew to 3B, or some other 3B (Cecchini?) that allows WMB to move to 1B )Lavs or someone I'm not thinking of.
  4. He's been falling off since Farrell left and Fenway wasn't the greatest place to play last season. We wll have to wait and see if he turns it around with Farrell and the new atmosphere around the team.
  5. Too early to make any kind of creditable guess. If you think they will contend, people will say your wearing your rose colored glasses. If you say they won't contend you'll be considered a doomsday type. This discussion is going to lead to a lot of bickering and urine spraying lol
  6. Damn it your giving it all away! :harhar:
  7. Any interest here?
  8. Sure, let's say a week(keep it short so that we can use other sig bets with other posters as well) or 100 posts you have to keep the signature. Starts first day after the regular season. I will go back into the predictions thread and add that a sig bet has been placed with you on Doubront.
  9. I voted for TB. They have the best SP and the least amount ?. Who finishes behind them is a crap shoot.
  10. My prediction is based on what I think Doubront can do in a full season. No I shouldn't have added if healthy. I will stand behind the fact I think he goes a full season.
  11. Self explanatory.. have fun, no one get too but hurt. This is the place where we are encouraging the act of going out on a limb, have fun
  12. Ok peeps, these are bold predictions. You can't say "Miggy fo MVP". Please leave your predictions here in this thread and comment on poster's predictions in the other thread. Makes it easier to come back and look at prior acts of limb climbing I'll start with 2 Red Sox "Bold Predictions" 1- Felix Doubront, I am Predicting he will be the biggest surprise in the Sox rotation, Stat Predictions: 17-10 190 IP 3.90 ERA 200+K 95BB 1.30 WHIP * Sig bet placed with a700 2- Jacoby Ellsbury, I am predicting will become the #3 hitter at some point in the season and be top 5 in AL MVP votes, and will cash in with Seattle for a Crawford type deal. Stat Predictions: .320/.380/.550 27 HR, 110 RBI, 45 2B, 10 3B, 45 SB MLB Predictions: Yankees finish more towards the bottom of the AL then the Top. Toronto takes a while to gel and starts slow, AA and company are in the hot seat by late May, then end up with 89 wins and miss the playoffs.
  13. IF healthy( I am worried about his innings jump), these are my predictions(I will make sure to add them in the thread Pal and I were joking about) 17-10 190 IP 3.90 ERA 200+K 95BB 1.30 WHIP And yes I know a lot of people aren't going to agree with this, but that's what makes it a bold prediction. I'm gonna make a thread lol
  14. I was actually expecting it within like 5 mins of that post hahaha I'm gonna have some doozies
  15. I'd rather have TB pitching staff. Dickey is an auto ? coming from the NL and not even having to consider he's 38, a KB'er(who is on a 3 year peak, how long do those last for KB pitchers?). Johnson is health issue. He's shown flashes of being an ace, but I view him as more of a Burnett-Beckett type. He's gonna be good, and he's gonna be bad. Buehrle is a soft tossing LHP. He's a good smart vet, but if one of the first 2 stumble, counting on him as a # 2 or higher is a big stretch IMO. Romero was absolutely terrible last season. I'm thankful he is still in the rotation, I see that as a plus for the rest of the division. Morrow has about the highest upside of them all IMO. He's got big boy stuff but hasn't put it all together yet.
  16. I'm gong out on a limb here, but I think IF healthy Doubront is going to be the biggest surprise in the rotation this season. I'll be sure to put it in the "Bold Predictions" thread as soon as one pops up
  17. Garza in an Ellsbury package(doubtful as CHC were trying to add SP with Sanchez) or Floyd in a deal for a C, presumably Salty.
  18. I do if it has a positive effect on the Pitching staff.
  19. Ya at first I was thinking trade Iggy. But I think it's best to keep him. Having Bogaerts as the injury insurance seems like a bit of a rush. That kid is the future, so they shouldn't rush him.
  20. I'm hoping we see him in ST this year.
  21. Iggy should only be traded for something of value. Like a Porcello. Other then that he can stay at AAA and be injury insurance for Drew. I like the Drew signing, but it's probably not smart to not have a back up waiting in AAA.
  22. I believe that is Bogaerts.
  23. No thanks. Not till they see what De La Rosa has. He's probably the 2nd best SP prospect the Sox has and given he is a LHP might have a higher ceiling then Barnes. If the Sox ae taking on almost all the $ they probably would only have to give up a Workman/Webster for him. Sanatana has enough? I wouldn't want to to give up top tier guys.
  24. Ya if he's healthy I don't see him being a 9.5M bench player.
