  1. Latest from Frodo, Frodo's "Reverse lock" is on Papelbon is gone the winter lol
  2. Lowell may not like being off. But tough s***. him getting routine rest has made him a more valuable player when he is in the line up. Sure they could play him every day, then we would have gimpy Lowell running around. Mikey is going to have to get over the fact he is finishing this season in a semi platoon type deal.
  3. I know it is risky. But I believe the Pats have a player or combo of players that will be able to give them the same production the RS could have given the this season or close to it. There's probably no way the sign him at the end of the year anyways. All the would have got was some compensation picks. Which are like what 3 round or higher? I think Wilfork is the more important of the two. Now they should be able to re-sign him. If they don't, I would really question the move more.
  4. I think they should skip 1 start. Give him a good rest. Hopefully by doing this the quality of his remaining starts will be better. But ORS makes a valid point to just letting him work it out on the mound too.
  5. I like the move for many of the reasons stated above. A 1st round pick for him at this point is beautiful. He is a one year rental on a horrible team. It's like if the Nationals had traded for Matt Holliday or something.
  6. I'd rather they bring Agon back for a year. I really think the Sox go out and trade for a SS this off season. Who? Not sure. There are a lot of possibilities out there.
  7. Them sending him down and gaining another year of control over him will up the price tag. I would thing a SP prospect would get it done. Maybe Tazawa? Bowden seems pricey. Kelly too. Pimentel+ one of the OF might do it as well. Something along those lines. Also depends on how many teams will get in on him. And what other SS's become available this off season too will have an effect on the price. I tend to agree with you there. But the wheels do seem to be slightly greasy:D
  8. Agon has hit good enough. And his glove is far superior to Guzman's. Who cares if he gets a few more hits then Agon when he's throwing the ball in the stands and booting potential DP balls. Agon was the far better option.
  9. I don't understand it though. Maybe he's not the vocal type. But a guy who plays 150+ games every year and has his kind of stats at the plate doesn't appear to be lazy to me. I mean if this is him being lazy, I can only imagine the type of player he could be if inspired.
  10. I plan to post my players 2009 stats. The draft maybe over. But now it's time for bragging rights:D
  11. Actually my 1st intention was to get everyone's opinion on why they think everyone on the team is hating on Ramirez. Is it all true? Is it jealousy because he's really the only one on the team to have gotten "paid"? A general WTF is going on? The guy plays a ton of games. And is racking at the plate. While playing decent defense. They have even said he has played through some injuries this year. I mean what else could they want? I knew the question of his "availability" would rise at some point. But it wasn't the main reason for making the thread.
  12. V-Mart and Tek should be able to rotate like they are this season. Tek, Papi, and Lowell all need time off. And fortunately for the Sox, V-Mart can fill in for all 3 in one way or another with few to no downgrades at the give position(Youk obviously playing 3B, not V-Mart). The Sox should sign him to a 4 year deal with a 5 year option. They can always move him to 1B/DH permanently down the road if they decide to pursue another everyday Catcher, like Joe Mauer.
  13. lolwut Guzman managed to be worse then my Julio Lugo comparisons. a700 has some crow to start gnawing on;)
  14. Am I missing something? He hasn't played less then 153 games since becoming a full time player. But It seems he has some questioning his desire? Just seems odd.:dunno: Edit: Botch the title... Feel free to fix it.
  15. Bay!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. Duncan is famous for turning guys around. He also said Smoltz was tipping his pitches and Duncan had caught on to it and told him about it. This could be a helping factor as well. I believe Smoltz was just not cut out for the AL. The AL ground Smoltz into submission. I saw his start the other night and he was at 69 pitches in the 7th. When he was in Boston that might have got him through 4IP. I don't know whether it's definitive, but the AL just seems to make SP work harder.
  17. Doesn't Carl Crawford have 2010 option?
  18. Ordonez's option vests in 40 something more Ab's
  19. Not a bad day to get Drew a day off with Price pitching and all. Looking forward to this pitching match up.
