  1. I don't f***ing believe it.
  2. See, Jacko loves little boys who suck, which explains his love for Brian Cashman. They're kindred spirits.
  3. I blame the GM for not having the foresight to see that this bullpen is terrible. I blame him for not making the moves that he needs to do. I blame the GM for overvaluing his own players such as Hughes and Kennedy. Anyone can make the big splash when you have the money like Tex and CC. It takes a quality GM to get a Smoltz and a Penny. He sucks at player evaluation, he hired the manager [the Steinbrenners wanted Mattingly], he's to blame. I give him credit when he does something good, and I'll blame him when he sucks. He sucks. I blame him. I don't blame Girardi as much as I do Cashman. Veras, Edwar, Tomko, Aceves, Coke....let's not forget giving Marte a three year deal for 12 million. Now he'll let Damon go at the end of the year...and take a chance on another young player who will suck. This team, if it EVER wins again, will win in spite of the GM.
  4. Maybe it's the fact that Cashman couldn't find anyone in the pen, his vaulted kiddy corp sucks. Cashman hired Girardi? If Girardi is terrible, then who should be responsible? I've said it for years, fire Cashman, and this team wins again. You want to go to a 39 year old pitcher to get 6 outs against one of the best hitting teams in baseball? The best you can muster is Aceves? Fire Cashman, Yankees win.
  5. Yankees suck. Can't beat Boston. Fire Cashman.
  6. Eh..if we take one of three in Boston, I'd be OK with that.
  7. Plain and simple, we suck against the Red Sox.
  8. Absolutely. If he continues that is...
  9. In the seven games he's been back, the team CERA has been 4.14. I knew he'd done better just by watching him, and the numbers back up what I saw. Anyone who's watched him can see he's framing better, he admits he's framing better, so there you have it. Jacko, the numbers don't lie. A small adjustment made him a much better catcher. Hitters do it all the time. Why can't fielders? I've said time and time again, I'd LOVE him to start framing pitchers. Hearing on TV that you're terrible every game woke his ass up.
  10. Yup. Even he admitted it. Just go back to the video and you'll see. Sorry his own personal admission doesn't jive with your argument, Jacko. How dare he.
  11. I have to say, the injury to Posada was the best thing that happened to the Yankees. Posada got some rest, and got to see how Molina/Cervelli did a great job behind the plate. This isn't me saying it, this is Posada saying it on an interview with Michael Kay. He says he didn't really realize how much of an effect it had on the pitch and he makes an effort on every pitch. Amazing. A player's improved contribution came from taking some time off and watching the game. I am utterly shocked that he has been this good. Throwing out runners is unimportant to me. Framing pitches is. Kudos to Posada, but some of the credit has to go to the broadcasters too. If they didn't harp on it on every good game the Yankees pitched, maybe he goes back to his s***** catching style.
  12. The smartest man on Talksox!
  13. No, but I'm enjoying it while it lasts. Hopefully, it lasts all summer. Seriously, I see both teams playing in October.
  14. You have to admit, it's better than being in second by half a game on June 7th. It really doesn't matter that much. It is kind of obvious to me that both teams will be playing in October.
  15. I love it!!! None of you guys who have been here for a while can ever say I don't sit here and take my lumps when my team loses. Only the newbies and the stupid say so. If you guys are so inclined, I haven't chimed in on yesterday or today's game UNTIL after they were over. Yesterday I went to the park to watch DipreG's cousin work. Today, I went shopping. However, I chimed in on both Yankee games, a win and a loss after I got back. So...sit and rotate. On the note of the best bullpen..yes, you do have the best pen. There is no question about that. However, if they have to rescue Dice-K every five days, it will wear them down. Your bullpen is most effective when they are not in the game.
  16. Team Dynasty...you're next. I'm up to 3rd, and I want that bye week. Jeez...talk about a tough stretch. I played the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and now this upcoming week, the 4th place team, all in a five week stretch. Still looking for an above average OFer.
  17. First place again. I love it! Seriously, Dice-K is a bullpen killer. Even when he wins, he burns out your pen. When he loses, your pen is burnt, and you lost the game.
  18. I am utterly shocked at how well Posada is framing pitches, although he admitted that he had worked on it while he was out with his injury. That being said, why the hell is Matsui in the lineup? The guy has never been able to recognize the fastball away, he has a slight step in the bucket, and he leads the universe in groundballs to second base. I don't understand why Melky doesn't play right, Gardner is in center, and Swisher DH's [swish in for Gardner when Posada DHs].
  19. I guess that when you say nice part of the city, you mean you have indoor toilets?
  20. I'm glad that I didn't see the game, and spent the day at the park. That was the only good thing about today.
  21. ORS is right, Benson was a highly touted prospect. I'm just not sold on a guy with 4 pitches, but poor control and a mediocre fastball. I really hope I'm wrong on him. ORS, what I was saying is that sending him to the minors won't be beneficial to him or the team as much as it would be to keep him here. He had good stats there, and the team needs a decent arm up here. Kilo asked me to list the pitchers who started in the pen, and I did so. That's about it. Kills you to pretty much agree with me, doesn't it? Oh DipreG, you made me laugh more than anyone here in months. An F-350? That's hysterical. I know your kind lives on pick-up trucks, but I'm a city boy. If you wanted to make a comparison, you should have used a Porsche, not a f***ing pickup truck. Only you dude..only you. As for pencil dick, ask your sister. She told me mine was bigger, but I also tipped her a dollar. Who really knows?
