  1. Anyone want Yankee tickets? It's that time of year again.
  2. Well that was weird.
  3. What are you talking about?
  4. Same here. Sent, as well as Yankee20715. Personally, I feel that if dues aren't paid by draft day, that should make you ineligible for the league. That should be a standard for everyone. There are plenty of people who would like to pay. If you can't afford it, or can't be bothered, don't play. This should be true for baseball and football. Those of us in the league went through this fiasco the last few years.
  5. Adrian Gonzalez will not be a Red Sox. It just doesn't make sense. First of all, they have Beltre at third. Secondly, they have Youkilis at first. Where would you put him? Now, if Gonzalez was going to be traded at next year's deadline, fine. As of now, the Red Sox are carrying one bad contract with Lowell. If they got AGon, it would be two. Who sits? Ortiz? Beltre? You'd have 20 million on your bench in two players. I was very happy as a Yankee fan when you got Beltre. That basically put you out of the running for AGon. Now that the rumor is that Beckham may be included, I think it's safe to say that AGon looks headed for the Sox, just the White ones.
  6. Good. Two Yankee fans...I guess that means the rest of you will fight it out for 3rd place.
  7. Yankee20715 is in. However, he had to switch schedules to make the draft, so basically, we can't switch the draft at this point or he can't play.
  8. Done. I should hear back from him tonight.
  9. Yankee20715 [he was horsedick.mpg] in football or last years champion in our fun league is willing to play. Let me know.
  10. Ah...Kilo and I pulled off the biggest trade in Talksox history. 14 player deal. I wonder if there is a way to look it up, I remember Beltran, Howard and Hamilton were in the deal.
  11. My age is catching up to me....I thought you did...maybe it was SOTK. Is Kilo in the league?
  12. I wonder if I'll trade the eventual American League MVP again this year for the third straight year. First Pedroia...then Mauer. That Pedroia deal still haunts me. I kept Kaz Matsui instead. Ugh. Too bad ORS and 26 aren't playing. I liked trading with them. Also, Yeszir. Without me stealing Greinke from him, I wouldn't have won last year.
  13. Funny how all of you talk like you are going to win. It's a three team race. Me, a700, and SFOC. To the rest of you, thanks for the donation.
  14. Whatever dude...buy what they tell you. You have proven more than anyone that you can't think for yourself, and have to be told what to believe. I didn't include Tex because...he wasn't signed by you. Explain how their revenue increases, but payroll decreases over three years. I hope you enjoyed padding their profits, fool. Especially next year when they claim that they can't afford to resign Beckett. The only reason Tex is a Yankee is, in my mind, because Henry f***ed up. However, no one will ever prove it one way or the other. Would you rather have Tex or Lackey and Cameron? I think it's obvious. From what I read, Tex gave a proposal to every team, and if that team took the proposal, he'd sign. The Red Sox thought he was bluffing, and he ended up with the Yankees. Again, I'm not sure of this, no one can be, but it's my guess. You call me a ****? What are these "NEW FOUND" revenue streams? Oh yeah...I know. The Red Sox just cut 50 million from last year's payroll. Plus..when you go to Fenway, it's been completely torn down, and rebuilt as an EXACT replica of the old-stadium. In fact, they've done such a great job, they even make everything look like it's 100 years old..just like old Fenway! How could we not have known? My mistake folks, I admit it! How could I not have realized? Word of advice...don't trust your doctor when he tells you an eight inch long thermometer is needed to take your temperature rectally.
  15. You're entitled to your opinion. However, I think catching is under-appreciated. The most important player in any game is the pitcher. The one who can affect the play the most is the pitcher, followed by the catcher. The Yankees don't need offense. They won this year because of pitching. So why not maximize their pitching ability by signing the best defensive catcher and game-caller in baseball [or at least in the top 3]? It's like buying a Lamborghini and using cheap gas. Sure it will run, but it won't be optimal. That's what you get with Posada behind the plate. Molina can't play a full-season, but a mix of him and Posada is fantastic. Also, I'd understand if Cervelli was the catcher of the future. He's not. From what I hear, it's Montero and Romine. So why not trade Cervelli for an arm, or an OF, or whatever? A decent prospect, as he won't be on the team in two years anyways? Why not live with Jose for two years, and get rid of the tandem in 2011 [or next year if we can get Mauer]?
  16. While for three years, payroll has gone down. During that time, revenue has increased. As fans...I would be pissed. It's good for you guys that they are finally spending...but again..ask...why not over the last few years? This is what a700 has been saying for YEARS. Every Yankee fan has been saying it here for years. Now you see it..and you still debate it. You've been played for fools, spending your money going to the games, paying for NESN, buying gear and programs, etc...putting money in their pockets, while they keep it and didn't reinvest it on the product you saw on the field...while telling you they couldn't. This is all I'm saying.
  17. God, you can't realize that Shaughnessy was saying what the Sox should do...what I've been saying they have the ability to do...and when they finally do it, he is validated, and so have I. Again, for people who have trouble graduating high school...the Sox have the ability to go higher in payroll...and they are finally doing it. They've been selling you all a lie, and the majority of you bought it. Now that they're spending it, you are on the bandwagon. You never stopped to ask why now? Why not last year? Or the year before? The Yankees opened a new stadium. They had a ton of expiring contracts. They were able to add CC, AJ, Tex, and Swisher...and decrease payroll. For them it made sense, as they could carry this debt load easily. The Sox increased payroll dramatically. Why? What happened? Nothing. Did they open a new stadium? No. New media deal? No. Expiring contracts? No. Zero, zip, zilch. Which means that this ABILITY was there. They chose not to. That's their prerogative. However, to complain about the Yankees while not spending what you can to improve your team is a bunch of hypocritical horseshit. Anyone with an IQ in double digits can see this. Honestly...what a bunch of imbeciles.
  18. Do it for last year, with the Sox at 121 million. What do you get then? Thanks for making my argument stronger. This is what the Sox should be spending. God, you're too much of an imbecile to realize it.
