Arod is a better hitter than Ortiz, and means more to the Yankees. You still have Manny and Drew for power. No knock on Ortiz, but he's not the hitter Arod is. At least until September/October that is.

You're not gonna get equal value for Manny, and it's obvious he wants out of Boston. If I was Theo, I'd see what the Mets or Dodgers would give up for him. The Dodgers have a boatload of young talent, and LA would probably appeal to Manny. It's either move him now or get draft picks at the end of the year. I don't see Boston going for another round with Mr. Headcase.

a700: The injury bug hit us more than it did you. We have lost Arod, Jeter, Posada, Damon, Matsui, Wang. I won't put Hughes and Kennedy in the mix since they sucked. You lost Schilling for the season, Dice-K, Lugo, and Papi. Not even close buddy. Plus, we pretty much lost Posada for the season as well as Matsui, where you lost Schilling, and knew he was going to break down a bit too. Injuries are no excuse, and you guys are back to healthy. We made this deal to fill holes, still have no idea on Matsui & Posada.

The Quantrill deal was a wash. Getting CJ Wilson was useless as well. Fasano wasn't much to write home about, the Betemit/Proctor deal was a non-move. The big ones were the Molina, Abreu, and first time around getting Chacon. If only Cashman signed pitchers like he made deadline deals. -
I agree, but I wouldn't give up anyone of potential for him. He's just not that good.

Jacko, don't forget, they lost Schilling before the season even started. Our best hope is that Manny refuses to play hard and the Sox don't make the playoffs. What a head case.

Don't feel bad JHB. I was banned from a Yankees site too. It's not just you. Was it NYYFans forum? That was mine, lol. I was banned for...get this...calling Cashman an idiot. LOL! Settle down there new fish. I've been here longer than you. Anyways, it's more fun with a little needling either way. Last I looked, you were the defending champs, and most of you take every opportunity to remind me. I fully expect all of you to kill me tomorrow, with Ponson going against Lester, I figure we'll be down by a touchdown after four innings.

Bipolar is cool. My girl doesn't know who she's sleeping with. Come to think of it, neither do I. Seriously, the Yankees have been a second half team the last few years, having the best record in 2005 & 2007, and second best in 2006. The addition of Marte and Nady solve two major problems. Enjoying our run right now. As you guys and we know...a good bullpen stops losing streaks. So I'm hoping the trend continues with us. Plus, it's great that were prospering at your expense. I LOVE IT!

You shouldn't worry about us anymore. Hope you can beat out the Devil Rays and Tigers. Otherwise, the only baseball Boston will see in October is on TV. Either that or Holliday/Fuentes. Your pen is worse than ours was BEFORE Marte. It's gas on a fire at this point.

I'm being sarcastic you idiots. That ball would have been out of Yellowstone. Not if you're a Yankee fan. Then it's quite fun. Actually, it's more like a quick run to fridge for a beer. I don't see what you guys really like about Masterson. High 80's fastball, good movement on the slider. A 6th or 7th inning pitcher at best. As for your core of players developing....don't hold your breath. You've gone with the youth experiment like we did, you did it in the pen and the rotation, and with the exception of Lester and Paps, the rest is s***. Same with the Yankees outside of Joba.

Great play by Youk and Lowell. This game is over though. The Yankees have the best pen in the game. 46-1 when leading after 6 innings. Go for the sweep tomorrow, and hopefully the Sox are watching the playoffs in October. Unless you guys make a move, you just aren't as good as us at this point.

This guy makes yesterday's umpire look fantastic. Holy cow, I haven't seen him call the same pitch twice in a row for EITHER side.
