  1. A few guys to keep on your radar from the DSL, Meh. Kennedy Agramonte- shutdown RHP with a power fastball-slider combo who really dominated Cris Cabrera- went down late with an injury, but a very polished RHP with a low 90s FB as a 17 yr old and a deep arsenal Yeicok Calderon- visa issues kept him in the DSL this yr, where he tore it up. He has a cannon for an arm, above average speed and light tower power Ravel Santana- quietly put up a dynamite season in the DSL this yr as an 18 yr old. 10HR, 22 steals and a .973OPS in 199ABs. He might be the best of them all. 5 tool OFer with plus speed and very good D in CF. All 4 should see time in the GCL next yr. There are others, but these 4 are the best that were left there.
  2. If Bay stayed in Boston, my guess is that he would have avoided a freak concussion and would have put up 30HRs like clockwork.
  3. Hellickson has converted to relief to save his arm due to his innings load. Not sure they'd risk that. I think the Rays are gonna be fine for next yr, IMO. They have McGee and Hellickson waiting in the wings with no starter hitting FA. My guess is that they pawn off Garza for a bat while trying to resign Pena on the cheap and putting their speedy rookie in LF
  4. His production has tailed off, no doubt. The thing about the mets is that they didn't build a team around their park. If I were them, I'd do what the pads did. Build a team on pitching and athleticism. That park will kill power for all but the major power guys
  5. The thing is, for a closer, his sample size is much lower and this outing has raised his ERA by almost a half run. Remember, he is entering his final yr of arbitration. This outing may have saved the sox a million or two
  6. They should. Why not? Celebrate when you clinch the playoffs, then celebrate when/if you win the division
  7. Soon to be a magic number of 3. Get the champagne on ice!
  8. YANKEES WIN, THAAAAAAAA YANKEES WIN!
  9. Jorge just got drilled in the balls by a foul tip. I guarantee he is wearing a cup, but it still hurts. My catcher once split his cup in two on a foul tip
  10. Papelbon is getting lit up
  11. thus far 1/4 into his contract, those fears have been unwarranted
  12. Not sure if any Yankees are crack pilots
  13. And if we nab Lee in the offseason, this team could be primed for another late 90s style run
  14. He has been noticeably absent for most of the year. From 07-09 he was insufferable. After our WS last yr, he's been pretty much absent
  15. why do I feel a fastball homer right here?
  16. In 08, I watched every game. Its more about the fact that you get to see your team for 6 months, then get a long winter full of a Canadian sport, a thug sport, and a sport that only plays on weekends. The weekdays get a lot longer when baseball season ends. And colder
  17. The sox were pretty much out of it, but they were still playing inspired baseball until that Tampa series
  18. 2 on nobody out, Javy on the mound. Where have I seen this before?
  19. JimEd is a f***ing pussy. He comes back to start a rant, then start a fight. Then, when the sox fall off, he disappears until the sox start winning again.
  20. Tampa Bay pulled their heart out. Since then, the sox have been dead in the water
  21. Girardi has made it absolutely clear that he doesnt care about winning this game
  22. 25 pitches for Rivera last night. I doubt he is unavailable
  23. Pretty much once Youkilis went down.
  24. In my opinion, it's been in there for awhile. Mathematically, that comes in about 4-6 days
