  1. great post Dojji. No response, so it's a 2 word response. I see. I take that as a victory, thanks.
  2. you want to move to Boston from Oahu/Maui. Rethink that. Please. I beg you. We in Mass are some of the least inviting people as a state that you will ever meet. Come visit, but dont stay
  3. I see. Can you take his dick out of your mouth for one night? The guy has a big league bat. Nobody questions that. His glove comes with major, major questions. Not acknowledging that is ignorant
  4. NY Daily News just came out saying that the Yankees are expected to pass on Beltran and pick up Swisher's option. Oh well.
  5. Tonight is going to be an epic game. I still dont get why Wash isnt going to the hot hand in Holland, but Harrison can make due. I think Carp is a little less sharp and the game turns into another high scoring affair. I hope there is a walkoff. I am sorry, but the baseball gods would frown on the Rangers being defending champs. I know that means the Cards will start gaining on us (lol) but so be it. And I like Pujols, a lot.
  6. The Rangers best years are ahead too. They'll let Wilson walk, but Holland and Harrison are future studs, Lewis is a good pitcher and Ogando looks like he'll be a stud once his arm strength picks up. Hell, they might move Feliz into the rotation next yr too. I listened to the Cherington interview and he says the sox have a solid #1, #2, and #3 in their rotation. Sounds like he's gonna be picking from the middle to the bottom of the FA pile to fill in the rotation. With Lackey out, there goes a body who fit into the rotation, so 2 pitchers are needed. If you move Aceves into the rotation, you lose a huge role in the pen. I dont expect more big money signing in the pen aside from a closer (be it Paps or someone else) so IMO, the sox are looking to see their guys rebound from down/injured years. Dont expect a big ticket FA being inserted into middle relief or into the rotation
  7. Lots of teams havent had their end of year org meetings. Other openings will come up and other candidates will be taken. The time to get the best manager is now. I still think Don Wakamatsu will be a finalist. He's everything the FO wants. A pawn to the GM but a hard ass in the dugout.
  8. SO it sounds like the Yankees are closing in on a deal with Cashman. That's the formality. Other big news is that Damon Oppenheimer is no longer a candidate for the Angels GM job. He's done a stellar job in the draft and INTL forum over the last few years, he would have been a big loss. Onto the player movement front. The Yankees and Sox are said to be very interested in Carlos Beltran. The Yankees still are mulling over whether to pick up Swisher's option, but right now it looks like it will be picked up, and if they get Beltran, he'll be dangled. Also, the Yankees are preparing an offer to CC to prevent him from option out. It is said to be a 6 yr offer for around $23-$24 million per year, totalling around $140 million. The consensus is that he is still expected to opt out. And Scott Boras is asking the Yankees to renegotiate Robinson Cano's deal. He has 2 options left on his deal worth $14 million and $15 million through 2013. The Yankees have already turned down his request. At that rate, he is a steal.
  9. He's done as a prospect. Sucks from a human standpoint, but reality is, he's going to need to find another method of employment
  10. They just don't die. What a game
  11. What a game, I hope the cards pull this out so we can watch a 7th game
  12. That's a pretty big difference in WAR when you consider their position. Sometimes you baptize by fire. Maybe Bard is ready, but he hasnt shown a lick of that thus far.
  13. Defense got a little better, offense got a lot worse. He's a marginal starting C in the AL
  14. Oahu, Maui, or Kauai?
  15. Low priced steals? Isnt everyone looking for those?
  16. Here's the problem. The sox dont have the chips to get a "solid" starter without completely gutting their farm. Both Lavarnway and Iglesias have their futures pencilled in. I think Lavarnway is the starting DH on opening day and Iglesias is the heir apparent at SS. His 2011 season has sapped him of trade value at this point. And there is a dearth of solid starters on the FA market.
  17. Bard was drafted as a starter and was absymal in the minors. It wasnt until they cleaned up his mechanics, shortened his arsenal and moved him to the stretch that he found success. You risk undoing everything if you move him back
  18. DiceK is gonna be out for most of the yr. He isnt someone to rely on. You dont come into a season relying heavily on a guy who when healthy, is a coin flip. And his work ethic blows, you really think he is going to come back in good shape?
  19. It doesnt come off the salary cap, though, which is what Henry wants to avoid. The low cost route isnt a bad way to go, but it rarely works out. The Yankees got lucky with their low cost route, and they werent relying on it for more than a #5 at best. When Hughes went down and they failed to get Lee, they had to rely on them more. If you go into 2012 with Aceves and cheap option A in your rotation, you are going to be relying an awful lot on your top 3. A top 3 that has seen 1 pitcher throw 190IP each of the last 3 yrs, one guy who missed significant time in 2010 and a few starts in 2011 and another guy who has thrown 1 full big league season and missed half of this season. The track record isnt there for reliability. And the sox farm system isnt strong enough to lean on should any of the above go down.
  20. Really? His option will be picked up in a heartbeat
  21. Theo and Billy Beane are in the same ballpark in terms of value, and I highly doubt the Cubs make any move for any closer
  22. This postseason puts the brakes on any Wilson to New York talk IMO. He's a lefty version of AJ Burnett. Great stuff, but nibbles himself into trouble
