    Albert will get a 10 yr contract. I think he'll take a slightly lower AAV to stay for 10 yrs. I think a 10 yr $240 mil contract is pretty likely. He's the best player since ARod to hit the open market.

    Lav's is also 3 yrs older. Montero made some strides defensively, and I can tell you right now, the Yankee reports are higher on his D than the sox one's are on Lav's. You dont tell your own announcers that a guy is likely to be a DH in the future unless you truly believe that.

But this yr, he is setting the market. He's the best closer on a market that has a lot of good closers. He will set the market for 2012. That's a given. It's standard terminology. He will get a lot of money, probably money that the sox will be uncomfortable with, but something they need to pay
