  1. Tex and Cano are absolutely lost right now. We need Swish and Gardner back in the worst way
  2. Banuelos started the yr out with 2 horrific starts, turns out he had a back injury. They cooled him down for 3 weeks and he returned tonight on a 60 pitch count. Great beginning. 3.2IP 2H 0ER 0BB 5K. The BB and the K are humongous. That's what we need to see more of. I'd like for him to be more economical, but for now, he looked phenomenal.
  3. BTW, I think Kurt Suzuki will be a Red Sox target at the deadline
  4. People wonder why I say we're gonna get a hitter at the deadline and not a pitcher. We have ridiculous pitching depth coming even with Garcia deepthroating a mule cock and Pineda going down with fat boy shoulder. But our offensive depth in the high minors is lacking to say the least and we need a guy who can hit. Our DH spot will rotate until the deadline, but our offense is old and prone to lapses in production, especially if injuries pile up (see Swisher and Gardner now). I have a feeling we make a big splash on the offensive end. Maybe a guy like Hafner should he continue to hit well
  5. People need to understand that he isnt Youkilis. Far from it. He's just as powerful, but he doesnt walk a lot and K's a lot. He might tear the cover off the ball the next 2 weeks or he could K 15 times in 12 games and be back in AAA. Regardless, it doesnt matter one lick, he's a good prospect with a big league future.
  6. He has a lat strain. They dont think it will last for more than one turn of the rotation. Lat strains are funny, though, and if it lingers on his throw day, he'll probably end up on the DL
  7. Bard's stuff will outclass this A's team all day. He just needs to come close to the plate
  8. He's a f***ing coward. Killed himself leaving a wife and 3 kids.
  9. Thing is, by the time Xander is ready, WMB will probably have been in the bigs for 1-2 seasons and you'd have a better idea of what you have. If WMB is hitting .300 with 20HR and 90RBI, then dealing Xander is going from a position of strength. If the kid is hitting .220 with 100K's in 100 games, then maybe you keep him
  10. Warren had a good appearance today, but he still isnt right. When he's on, he goes 6+IP, sometimes 7 or 8.
  11. He'll be in Portland soon
  12. he'll come at the big league minimum. He's getting $9 mil this yr from Anaheim regardless
  13. Melancon has always dominated the minors.
  14. They cut him because they were bringing up Trout and their DH spot was full with Trumbo and Morales rotating through. Abreu can still reach base and pop the occasional HR
  15. 2 unearned runs due to Nunez' inexperienced play in LF. We need to call someone up. Sounds like Swish is off through the end of the week and Gardner wont be activated until Monday
  16. I am unsure if you guys are just jokingly misspelling the name or if you are unaware that his name is Punto
  17. Hughes is K'ing the league right now and avoiding the walk. His peripherals are good. He just leaves the ball up in the zone way too much. He also runs his pitch count way too high. 100 pitches in 5.2IP is unacceptable, especially vs the O's. 5.2IP 6 baserunners, only 2 walks and 6K's. But 2 more bombs and a 2 run deficit. He needs to build off this start. He's still on probation for me
  18. Innings 3 and 4, he couldnt seem to keep the ball out of the dead red zone. Innings 1-2 and 5-6 he has been good. Velo is back up as well into the mid 90s. Hughes as a starter isnt dead just yet
